Did Artest refuse to come out of game?

David Aldridge said last night on TNT that Artest was asked by the coaches to come out of the Hornets game at some point, and he refused.

Anyone know anything about this?

Don't know anything about it - but it seems par for the course. He's been doing that stuff all year ... so I see nothing new here.

Artest is a headcase and should be moved at the earliest possible moment.

I'd really be pushing hard at a Brown/Deng for Rahim/Artest move ... really hard.

No suprise, in previous games it's been said he'd check himself in and out of games, he doesn't listen to the coach like most of the team.

Kind of like that time last year when the Kings needed a time out and Adelman wouldn't call one so Artest did it himself.

Put RonRon on the inactive list if he doesn't listen to the coach. Let him back the next game and put him on the list again whenever he starts making his own calls.

If RonRon sits out too much it's going to hurt his stats and his next contract. He'll get the message.

Ron wanted to play. Atleast he wants to be on the floor instead of the opposite.

Aint that the truth!!! :p
He has stayed pretty positive crazily so.

We all knew he had a strong personality and wants to win at all costs. You have to listen to the coach, but if Bibby and others don't listen...do we really think Artest will??? :D

True, he cannot bear to be out much more. He's missed 1/2 of the past 3 seasons combined. He must really be fresh to stay in and get some huge minutes!!!! :p

Muss with his crew of frat boy assistant coaches is really a joke.

How exactly does that work?

Muss sends a guy to the scorer's table, guy checks in...Ron refuses to leave the floor? What happens then? Did our guy just go back to the bench? Did we take out another player? Or did this happen during a timeout and Ron just refused to stay on the bench? Very odd. Generally better than the nasty refusing to check in trend, but still completely disrespectful.

Fire Muss and have Artest be the coach and player.

It's like telling your boss at work you will not do what you are supposed to. I don't care if he wanted to stay and play and help. If you go against what your coach tells you you should be suspended.

I would like to know what actually happened (if anything) before I make a judgement about who should or should not be fired or suspended.

Does anyone have any real information? Inside info perhaps?

It's not like Grant and Jerry would ever mention it.

if these things ARE true, i would think that the kings would not want to draw attention to it by putting artest in the inactive list. this is pure stupidity. what are you trying to show? that artest IS a cancer? fat lot that does for his trade value. i hope taht petrie is trying to move pieces, and to do so, you must make said pieces attractive to others. youve already shown the league that your point guard cant shoot a lick this season or play defense, your 7 footer could basically be a cardboard cutout in the key, and now you want to tell the rest of the nba that your gifted but mercurial star player is still at it?

...

To return to the topic at hand, I suspect this is much ado about nothing. It's possibly Musselman talked to Artest during a commercial or time out and said he was going to sub him out to give him some rest and Artest said it wasn't necessary. I'm not gonna lose any sleep over anything Aldridge reports. We have a lot bigger things to worry about.

I don't believe a word of it. These are media twits. Artest has done nothing to justify believing this BS. He doesn't even argue with referees!
