(assuming we don't draft a PG

I know hes off contract and I wonder if we could sign him for reasonable cheap would Kings fans want Devin Harris? He's tough hard nosed defender, still has close to elite quickness and is a big upgrade over IT (as pretty much any guard with any quality is), it was not that long ago he was basically a borderline Allstar in NJN, I think he could be a very decent starting PG for us. His jumper has improved hes a three point threat and I thought he played well this season in Atlanta.

What do people think about Devin Harris? I'd say he would be the best PG Cousins/Reke would have ever played with probably

If you want the Kings to play more in the open court Devin Harris may be a good pick, because of his speed and ability to run the break.
If the Kings focus more on the halfcourt i would prefer a PG like Maynor or Calderon.
Jarett Jack seems to be more of a scorer than a playmaker and handles the ball most of the time. I doubt he would fit with Evans.

I see Jack being used as a sixth man off the bench. A Bobby Jackson type of player. In that role, I'd like him on the team. But not as a starting PG. I'd be fine with Maynor in that role. He's one of those guys that doesn't try to grab the spotlight. He just quietly gets the job done.

I'm right there with you, but i guess Jack wants to get an improved role, if he leaves GS. He wants to play starting PG on his next team, so i doubt the Kings will sign him. Maynor would be a great fit, if he wants to leave Portland.

I would want Calderon for this team, veteran guy who racks up assists and has an above average bb IQ. Maynor in pre-injury form would be a good choice as well.

First let's get a "real smart" coach. Jimmer could help this team with a coach who develops his weakness(defense) and ride on his strengths perimeter offense.

The Warriors use of Klay Thompson and Curry has shown me glimmer of hopes for Jimmer.

thompson's got adequate size for a SG and curry's got exceptional handles for a PG. unfortunately, jimmer is neither the right size to play the SG nor a sufficient enough ballhandler to play the PG, on top of the defensive issues you've already mentioned. he is the ultimate 'tweener, and for that reason most coaches will elect to place him in a reserve role. but yes, jimmer could help this team with a head coach who commits to developing him into an off-the-ball spot-up threat off the bench...

Curry has the lightening quick release and ball handling to make up for his hieght, Klay also has a quick release along with size to make up for his lack of handle, jimmer cant get enough seperation to get a consistently clean enough shot for his slow release/lack of size, for him to get a clean look, he needs to be wide wide open or somehow have the defender on his heels and that slemdomly happens.

If only Jimmer played on the same team as an elite penetrating/slashing guard and a power post player who could create looks for him.

On topic. Cousins and Devin Harris really, really do not like each other. I would never put those two in the same locker room if I could avoid it. Harris is a slashing point guard who has lost a step from his Mavericks/Nets days. Tyreke needs floor spacing and a Harris does not provide that. Harris also tends not to play defense when he doesn't feel like it.

Small forward and defensive post players are still the problem I see with the roster. I do not like IT as starting point guard for defensive and shot distribution reasons. Toney Douglas can fill the slot if he continues to improve his 3-point shot. Fill the Mario Chalmers role for the team. Just need a defensive stalwart with some range at SF.

I think Jimmer more than anyone on the team struggled from Smart's rotations this year. He got jerked around far more than anyone else on the team. From playing 20 minutes 1 game, to sitting out the next 3, to entering the game in the 4th quarter for the 1st time, it's not difficult to see why Jimmer struggled some throughout the year.

Overall though, we saw huge improvements from Jimmer in virtually every facet of the game. Ball-handling, scoring, defense, and his confidence were all noticeably better this season. I'd definitely be interested in seeing him play a larger role with us next season

I actually believe his confidence was worse this season. After every mistake he made and there were many, he always looked as if he just wanted to run and hide. He had a very "Sorrry guys, my bad" sort of face - every single time. Maybe it was because he knew his PT was limited, but IMO, I believe it was because he just felt uncomfortable out there - Not only due to his PT being fickle but the pace of the NBA-level game is something he has yet to adjust to or get used to.

He had that one stretch during the year where he was just a great, great asset of the bench. Lights out scoring, improved defense, improved ball-handling etc. Then his PT got messed with and you could tell he was forcing his game any chance he got. Which is understandable: If I knew the next 8 minutes might be the only ones I get for the next 2 games, I'd be trying to put up huge numbers as well.
