Yeah, Detroit really isn't very high on Stuckey anymore. Its actually remotely possible they would do something like this to shed that Gordon contract. But it takes two to tango.

We do need a player like Gordon. He's shooting 46% from three-point land. The Kings are below 30%. We need better shooters.

I think we're in a bit of collective denial about how bad the Kings' offense is. Beno and Donte, two guys we were counting on to be deep threats, are off to terrible starts from 3 point range. Evans drives, gets up in the air, throws the ball out to someone open at the circle, the miss results in a long rebound, and the other team is off to the races. I'm not a huge Gordon fan, but defenses have to honor him at the 3-point line. And while Stuckey isn't exactly what the Kings need in the backcourt (Chris Paul and Deron Williams probably aren't available), he'd be a significant upgrade. I'm just not sure that Beno and Landry are enough from the Pistons' perspective.

Pistons are a better team than we are right now, no way they would do that trade... Detroit is known for being a good defensive team, why would they take 2 players that doesnt play any defense at all and give up their 2 best guards ?

Beno's contract is cheaper and shorter than Gordon and Landry's expiring will give them more flexibility. Detroit maybe better than us. But I believe they know this kind of roster won't get them that far. As for their defense, probably this isn't their target now having Monroe, Daye, and Charlie V. at their frontline with the aging used to be defensive players in Hamilton, Prince, and Wallace.

Gordon is the opposite of Kevin Martin, who's type of play didn't really mesh well with Reke. Kevin likes to run around and get open, but Gordon can push it against any player and he is still deadly from the perimeter. I'm basically interested on having a backcourt pair that can just drive and shoot against any team. And Gordon knows how to play from the bench in case we use Stuckey as PG next to Evans.

Stuckey will add a constant size advantage for our backcourt. And he is at least of few steps above Beno on the defensive end.

Salary-wise, Gordon's contract ends when Evans gets his qualifying offer. So it will actually leverage for an insurance room for signing Reke. And our payroll is probably the league's lowest that even absorbing Gordon's big salary, we can still probably resign Dalembert and 1 more FA next summer.
