Speak for yourself! People were pissed off when we traded Robinson so if you think no one would case if we traded Cousins you are mistaken.

Sure there are other priorotoes that occupy our thoughts at the moment (ie this whole ownership thing) but progress and growth of our players is still very important. Especially the key players for this team.
 
Cousins was an absolute embarassment tonight. Faried and the Euro were working him over good, and all he can respond with is cheap shots. Then he got benched and got into a verbal altercation with some fans. He is a classless punk, end of story. God I hope we get rid him.

Cousins grabbed 13rebs blocked 5shots dished out 3assists which could easily have been 5 had Salmons been able to hit the broad side of a moountain. He did a lot more out there than the typical amteur dip fan who doesn't understand the game beyond shooting can see.

And frankly I have seen and heard enough fans around here to suspect whoever he unloaded on deserved it.

I think its great he got 5 blocks and shows he can actually block shots and show he can actually protect the rim and not be lazy and let people finish at the rim uncontested like he does in 99% of games, the rebounding was ok and something you would expect from him every game considering he can catch anything and is a good rebounder. But 1/12 is not going to cut it no matter what, he took about 5 just awful shots and went so soft to the rim on numerous others. But in the end he hurt the team more than he helped them and thats what you have to look at.

James Johnson has also played great defense and hurt the team badly throughout the year Cousins was no different today.

Go look up how many absolutely terrible shooting performances Kobe Bryant has had in his career.

Point is: They happen. To everybody.

DMC was still effective and was still helping us win, despite his poor shooting %.

So its alright for them to work him over, but not for him to be upset about it. You wouldn't last five minutes in the same situation. If you paid attention, you would have noticed that they were grabbing, yanking, talking trash and doing just about everything they could to get Cousins to blow. And I suspose thats alright with you. Cousins is the bad guy no matter what the other team does. They can grab him by the arm and jerk him to the floor, and thats alright. I'm going to bite my tounge right now and stop. But self rightous idiots like you drive me nuts.

Please, don't compare James Johnson and Cousins! One is a very talented player, and the other should be working in a 7/11. Yes, Cuz had a bad shooting night tonight. It happens! Some nights things just don't work the way they're susposed to. I sat at a game and watched Chris Webber go 2 for 23 one night. Your going to have games like that.

Which is a wildly different statement then that Cousins was an embarrassment. He did not quit. He did not even in the end get a technical. He fought it out, contributed in a lot of ways you can when you aren't shooting, and the lack of players able to do that is frankly a primary reason we suck. Being frustrated =/= being an embarrassment. Did you fight? Did you find ways to help? If you did than the guy calling you embarrassing is the embarrassment, not you. You just had a bad night.

Plus he was fouled on half those shots that weren't called and one that was should have been a flagrant. Kufos was not going for the ball when he pulled Cuz down.

Yeah and Cousins didn't foul the living crap out of Lawson when he blocked him the first time and clearly foul Koufus on a box out where the refs let it go cause they knew they made a mistake by not calling the foul where Koufus grabbed his arm. The fouls/non calls went both ways, he still shot 10 free throws which was only 2nd to Ty Lawson so please don't bring up the refing as an excuse it was physical both ways. Denver was called for 26 fouls Kings for 23

The reailty of that game is that Denver is a team who's back ups would own our starting 5, there players play to there strengths including there lower IQ guys such as Brewer/Magee and when they attack the rim they all go strong and when you go strong you get the benefit of the doubt more often for the foul. Blaming officals for someones poor game is not the way to go imo particular when its not the first time its happend this season.

Let's face it if Cousins walked on water there are posters who would call him too lazy to swim. He had a bad night and hung there. He tries hard for the same reason he complains about calls and runs his mouth when he would be better served keeping quiet. HE CARES. He wants to win, he wants to do well. I'll take him over a guy who shrugs his shoulders and leaves the court saying "you can't win them all" or why should I dive for a ball we aren't going anywhere. The number of players I would trade DeMarcus for I can count on one hand.

I think that's going a little overboard saying he was fouled on half his missed shots. Big CUZ is just going to have to be held accountable for his bad shooting last night. It's nobody's fault but his own.

Show me a link. I don't believe that. +/- is also not indicative of how good a player is. Once upon a time, Kevin Durant was a bad "+/-" player his first 2 years in the league.
 
What is it about Kings fans always turning on their own, believing that the grass is always greener on the other side? It's a major tall poppy syndrome you guys are suffering from.

Let me be clear, crystal clear, I think you could count the number of NBA franchises that would not want DeMarcus Cousins on their team on one hand and you wouldn't use up all the fingers either.

Similar thing could be said about Tyreke Evans as well. I think with the pending free agency, we are about to find out exactly how valued Tyreke Evans is by the other teams. These guys are not stupid, they can see undervalued talent when they see it.

Why do you think San Antonio, Boston etc have all shown interested in one of both of Cousins and Evans? Because these guys know talent when they see it and they are masters at identifying under utilised and under valued talent.

Think about that for a second before coming on here spouting vitriol on a player just because you have your knickers in a knot! And if you don't understand a couple of aussie phrases in this post, google them! ;)
 
I'll be honest about this, I think its a problem that we've been in the lottery for 5+ years and only have a core of Cousins/Reke/etc to show for it.. It's Clipper-esque of the older times. I's a pity because I can very easily see us having the same record 5 years from now.. I see nothing definitive on the horizon. Reke at this point is just a solid, if inconsistent role player and Cousins - who knows what he is.. point is, black cloud over the organization and hopefully it lifts and things begin shining for us in the future. I wasn't joking or trolling when I said, other than the franchise's history being tied to the city, that I would have no very strong preference in terms of roster if we kept this team or got an expansion team

Can't score on a bad defender in Lee, gets blocked by Andrew Bogut who clearly is nowhere near 100% who can't jump and barely moves, than to top it all off gets rejected by a undersized C who was a 2nd round draft pick and than gets beat out for position and that same rookie scores an and1 on him. But im sure according to everyone on this forum he was great cause he HAD 4 STEALS, at least he didn't give up lmao we will just ignore the 2-10 on bad shots taking it soft.

in b4: it was Smarts fault, he was fouled, the team sucks, he still had a positive impact, he tried hard he was just missing easy shots.

I think Tyreke and Cousins have given up. Perhaps that makes me an apologist but neither is playing anywhere near the way they have played at their best this year. It's like a switch has been flipped off. Why? Who knows. I suspect if they moved to another team they would play much better and for the good of them, another team might be the best for them.

Or maybe new owners and a new coach and GM.

I sure as hell hope not. If this is the case, they aren't franchise cornerstones. Not even close. You think LeBron ever quit on his team? KD his first few years? Even when Wade's heat won 15 games in 07, he still put up 26 PPG, 7 APG, 4 rebounds a game trying to single-handily win his team games.

The coaching/poor team structure excuse only works up to a certain point. After 3 years playing together, at what point do we start looking for these two to start leading us to wins?
 
I'm going to avoid the last sentence as I have never been convinced that they alone can lead us anywhere. My personal opinion is that Tyreke's game has been hurt by Smart whether it is trying to make him into a SF or sitting him for extensive periods of time. It still is a team game and we have not only a bad coach but a dysfunctional team structure whose ownership has abandoned them. If you don't think that makes a difference, we just simply disagree.

What I am wondering, and I think it isn't the same old garbage discussed over and over, is if anyone else thinks their game has deteriorated. Unless we agree this is so, none of the rest is worth discussing.

Well, if we're being technical - Wade only played 51 games that year for Miami and sat out the final month-plus. That was also just about 2 years removed from a championship season. So the two situations are not comparable. Also, Lebron's early days/teams with Cleveland and KD's with OKC we're NEVER so poorly ran as our team's. DMC and Reke have also had to deal with owners, who for all intents and purposes, have had no interest in making the Sacramento Kings a winning franchise. 2 wasted drafts in a row as well as a lame duck coach. You can't blame these 2 for being frustrated.

Also, Reke at this point has been the most poorly-utilized player in Kings history, IMO. If he decides to leave to another team, that's how we'll look back at his time here. Severely misutilized (is that a word?) and a gigantic missed opportunity.

I don't think they've given up, but I do believe they're frustrated and with great reason.

Their value has been ruined to a point where they either make it work with a new revitalized Kings organization... or we give them up for pennies on the dollar and start from scratch.

I guess it's personal opinion, but I don't think thats holding him personally accountable for what he is.. He's played every position here, this is his fourth year, I really doubt he's just going to go to another team and be something he hasn't been here. There just seems to be a divide on this board about how to view under-performing players. It might be a half-empty half-full thing, or it might just be upbringing. Some folks on here will just exscuse players bad play on coaching, ownership, whatever else until their out of the league, and some like me and LWP777 (I think) and others don't like players not held accountable.. I guess its just opinion
