I have. Check a game thread from any Kings/Pelicans game. Lots of "he's overrated", "I don't see what's so great about him" etc. You can't give him the ball when you need a hoop was another.I have never seen anyone ever "bag" on Anthony Davis here.
Here's his line from last night, which included the game winner, against the defending champs, on the road.
A. Davis 27 Pts, 11 Reb, 1 Ast, 4 Stl, 6 blocks
Its not hype.
As for Boogie's player of the week chances, Pelicans are 2-1 this week, so I think Boogie still gets the player of the week edge vs AD at least. Curry? Avg 30+. Warriors 2-0 against the clippers and rockets, plus one more game tonight @Phx.
Klay got it last week.
I'd say Boogie and Curry are on the short list. One game to go for each.

Last night, they did give him the ball when they needed a hoop, and he delivered. That's terrifying if he becomes a goto guy like that. Oh, he's also 21. I just get the feeling that lack of goto guy status may have may been true of 19/20 year old AD. But not for long. He got the ball at the top of the key, took one dribble and got a layup. He still doesn't really have any move but one dribble and up, but yeah, that's what makes him particularly scary. What happens when he gets another move or two?The thing about AD is that "You can't give him the ball when you need a hoop" still remains fairly true, but DESPITE that he's putting up these kinda numbers. That's what's scary. His shotblocking is also very impressive and he's been blocking jumpshots on the perimeter as well. His combination of quickness and length is really quite amazing. Obviously he's a different player from DeMarcus, and will never be the power guy that Cousins is.
Bottomline is ... they're both very, very good basketball players. I'm looking forward to many years of both of them dominating the rest of the league.

You either aren't looking very hard, or you're working with a different definition of "bashing." Now, I stipulate that it hasn't much been unsolicited, but the conversation usually seems to play out like this:i've never seen people bashing Davis either...
i've never seen people bashing Davis either, but the media is certainly overhyping him, and Jamal fell into that trap. Davis is not the league MVP right now
If the season ended today it would probably go:
Curry
Harden
DMC

i agree, someone else brought it up and said AD was the MVP right now, so that was my responseIt says in the bible that you can't talk about "if the season ended today..." until the season is at least 25% complete. look it up.
I don't think anyone actually said AD should be mvp. The only mvp talk was about cousins.i agree, someone else brought it up and said AD was the MVP right now, so that was my response

Cousins to his credit has made some major strides in his maturity level. Winning is the perfect positive reinforcement for him to continue. His game against the Thunder showed that he is not that comfortable playing against a zone yet. Neither are his teammates. It was interesting to see a depleted team like OKC be more physical than the Kings. The game tape against the Thunder is one for him to look at multiple times. The future looks bright for him. He is even showing signs of leadership.
Boogie has way too much ground to make up in the eyes of the rest of the NBA - the powers that be shouldn't tell the Kings to take the night off too many more times or they'll find the fanbase eager to ignore any strides Boogie takes.
Or do TPTB REALLY think they are THAT in charge of the narrative, and league-wide perception?
Guess we will see - only a couple months to go before the All-Stars become pretty locked in.
I'm predicting Boogie'll still need to be voted in by the coaches....
JT has made him look average for the past season or soI have. Check a game thread from any Kings/Pelicans game. Lots of "he's overrated", "I don't see what's so great about him" etc. You can't give him the ball when you need a hoop was another.
And then you'll probably see me telling those people they are crazy.![]()
Say what now?Yeah, I was wondering where it had been discussed, too...
It really IS too bad, because for the culture and perception to change, DMC and the Kings have to bust their butts every night - they can;t afford to cruise, be lazy, and/or stupid when the narrative has to be changed THIS much.
They haven't accomplished ANYthing yet.
Just the beginnings.
What happened at OKC is absolutely inexplicable, without going into conspiracy theories.
What happened immediately after they got down 17 points in the third (and THEN started playing how they should have been playing the whole game), is utterly inexplicable to me.
Then once they showed how easily they could steamroll OKC if they tried, they immediately stopped trying.

Tin foil hats here! Get your tin foil hats!
Seriously, WTH are you talking about? They had an off night. It happens. Believe it or not, it even happened when Webber and Divac were on the team and we ended up in the WCF.
Well the Team with Webber and Divac was way superior talentwise. The 2014 Kings won the first couple of games by battling the opponent and playing with more hustle and physicality than the opponent. They can't afford to take a night off.
Kings have one of the weakest starting PF, one of the weakest SG-Duo and still lack some bench-production. They are fighting an uphill battle and they will only win, if they lock in and play every game, like it's the last game of the season.
Last 2 games were a huge step backwards, cause they showed the old bad habits of last season.
I'm not sure some of these people have been King's fans for more than the last two weeks.I can't believe this is happening. After eight straight losing seasons, are Kings fans already spoiled after seven games of success? Or maybe its been so long that there's been a winning team around these parts, we've all forgotten that winning teams do lose too.
Losses suck, but its a grueling 82 game season and there will be times the team just doesn't have it on a particular night. This team is already dumped into a meat grinder to start the season, running the gamut of practically every Western Conference contender in its nascence. They could very well be back at .500 by next week and still have every right to hold their heads high.
Losing to OKC, a team minus their two superstars but still a defense worthy of a championship contender, was unfortunate but not a harbinger of the apocalypse.
