Demarcus F Cousins

Let's wait another 2/3 weeks, and we will see lots of new DMC fans claiming they have always been Boogie's fans and they knew he was going to be the best big man (or best player?!?) in the league... Just wait...

could be. There's always a team element to those anyway -- you only get them when the team is winning. Hence we haven't gotten many in the past decade. :p
27 Ppg/12.8 rebounds shooting 57.8% fg 87.2 line in 9.8 attempts per game, 1 steal, 1.5 blocks over the past 7 days. Only 1.8 assists, but that's nitpicking.

All In 29 mins. Oh, kings are 4-0 in those games.

It's him or Harden. Harden has been off the charts good as well. I can't imagine anyone else being in contention.

Lebron winning it no matter what it was determined in July.

Doesn't matter. We can always add more seats at the back of the wagon. ;)

Harden has played some of the worst teams in the league though. 76ers, Lakers, Celtics, Spurs with no Duncan/Splitter/Ginobili/Bellinelli

Indeed. You don't need to convince me. With Lowe tweeting out those unreal Boogie on the court vs off stats, I think Boogie has a legitimate shot.

Harden is up against the Warriors tonight. That's real competition.

Root hard against harden tonight. That's what I'm saying. Him and his stupid beard. :)

Best big man in the league, hands down. The media can keep sipping on the Anthony Davis Kool-aid but we know the truth.

5-1 ;)

The way he's playing, we should be talking ALL-TIME lists, not who's the best today or this week.

The one player he reminds me the most of right now is Shaq - massive, overpowering, with finesse around the rim. Difference is greater emphasis on finesse than raw power for Boogie (although the two have both in spades).

Now that he's playing under control, stepping up on D (he's always been a good defender, just didn't bring it every night), and within a real system, we're seeing Boogie on full display, not just the flashes and potential of the last few years.

The only question now is seeing how far he can take this team, not just this year but the next 10. There are so many variables that we can't really predict it, but I, for one, am excited to witness the birth of the Age of Boogie. It's gonna be a fun ride.

I wonder how those teams who passed on Cousins during that 2010 Draft Night feels now.:D

I've always wondered how could have those teams been so wrong with Cousins.

#1 John Wall (Wizards)
#2 Evan Turner (76ers)
#3 Derrick Favors (Nets)
#4 Wesley Johnson (Timberwolves)
#5 DeMarcus Cousins (Kings)

I'll never forget the first time I saw Cuz play @ Kentucky. That Saturday morning I said to myself we have to get this kid, then on draft night when Minnesota called Wesley Johnson's name I got crazy gitty "he's on the board he's on the board" then when we picked him I went nuts. The morale of the story. Khan!

They probably feel about the same as we do, for picking Thomas Robinson instead of Lillard or Drummond o_O

Say what you will about how his tenure ended, but Petrie was always head and shoulders above his colleagues in the draft. The story on Boogie was a talented guy but one who would kill coaches, wreck locker rooms, and fall short of his potential. Kudos to Geoff for making a gutsy (and correct) call, when other teams and "experts" had DMC ranked lower.

Cousins holding off Malone was priceless, I think the turning point for him was that gold medal and being around professionals that put up with no shenanigans.

Harden went 8-24 in a loss to the Warriors. 22/7/7. 1-11 from 3.

That'll hurt any player of the week stuff for Harden.

Anyone else having a huge week?

Realistic chance for boogie?

I'm continuing to make this comparison of Melo and DMC for myself just to see if my basketball IQ is worth anything. Both have one top of the line player behind them in Gay and Amare (and I still think Amare is a beast). However, both have a number of pretty decent players in their team. I would rate the teams basically equal talent wise. Melo is not able to convert his skills to W's, but DMC does. That is purely an issue of leadership.

Did they bring 2004-2005 Amar'e to the present through a time machine or something I'm not aware of?

I know he fouled out last night, but two weeks in, is DeMarcus Cousins the MVP frontrunner?

Not quite, that still goes to Davis, but he's in top 3, if there is such a thing 6 games in. I know it's fun to bag on Davis around here, but the guy has been absolutely bonkers in the early going

Seriously, when's the last time we've seen two bigs this dominant in the NBA? I'd bookmark that comparison finder this year; it's going to be fun a match-up to watch.

I have never seen anyone ever "bag" on Anthony Davis here.
