I would argue that "win" is too general. If he wanted to win he would pull a KD or a LeBron. He wants to win here. Loyalty, as he calls it.Only a small group of players in the NBA want to win as bad as Cousins.

Now got listen the Meyers post game interview. He said Cuz was yelling and screaming when it came out.
I'll stop ya right there, because as someone who is one of the biggest Boogie supporters (but not a sycophant) on this site, I think I may be able to shed some light here.Look, Boogie haters, I want to lay this plain, as many have in various ways, in this thread. DeMarcus gets wailed on throughout the game -
Many of us, or at least myself, agree with both of you.I'll stop ya right there, because as someone who is one of the biggest Boogie supporters (but not a sycophant) on this site, I think I may be able to shed some light here.
Many of us get it.
We get the fact that he's hacked and poked to oblivion, and the refs haven't given him a fair shake for years.
Hell, I've argued that with many examples throughout the years, and calls for the Kings org to come out with a videotape and present it to the league showing the ref's obvious bias in their unequal treatment of Cuz vs other (more protected) stars of the NBA.
But based on the number of upvotes you got, I don't think some of you are listening, or understanding the point some of us are making here.
Even when the other team is pushing the boundaries of the sport by fouling you to the point of daring the officials to continue calling them on it (which they typically don't, because then it can easily be perceived as them making the difference in the outcome of the game), it doesn't obviate Demarcus' responsibilities to himself and his team to keep control of himself and to play smarter.
He is his own worst enemy on the court - his inability to control his emotions leads him to reckless fouls, careless turnovers, pissing off refs, turning off the majority of customers, league suspensions, and bad play.
These are facts, based off 7 years of proof.
I totally agree that the refs should not be behaving the way they do to Demarcus.
Nonetheless, they are human, and they will act like humans out there : if Cuz disrespects them and mean-mugs them when they are doing there job (basically picking a fight with them), then they will retaliate with judgment calls against him.
To not recognize this is sheer delusion.
He will not change this dynamic by continuing to act the clown on the court.
I still believe the Kings organization could change things at the league level if they made a concerted effort to point out the discrepancies he has endured over his career.
But with every one of these petulant, entitled displays out there, he is rendering that likelihood smaller and smaller.
Many of us don't believe Boogie is being irrational, or making up the thought that he has bias against him - we see the different treatment and think it's unfair.
But if Boogie really wants to change his situation to a more fair one, he HAS to learn to control his emotions (or at least his uncontrolled behaviors which launch from his emotions) and play smarter, instead of looking the fool, acting like a child, making himself look terrible to the whole world, and (most importantly) playing into the hands of his opponents time and time again.
He must grow up if he wants the dynamic to change - he can't bully this situation into compliance.
Superstar =/= leader.
HE DIDN'T spit out his mouthpiece at the bench. Believe what you like. I was there sitting in the lower bowl in a pretty good position to see the incident.
If you think that's me pathetically defending him, so be it.
Many of us, or at least myself, agree with both of you.
DMC hurts himself and the team with the way he mishandles the refs.
The refs do not call things the same from player to player, team to team, ref to ref.
BOTH of these facts need to change and be addressesd.
Unfortunately both seem unlikely to. Although personally I would like to see DMC learn to play the game within the game a little smarter, as that seems the more likely attainable solution of the two problems.
It really really bothers me. Also the " I will wait and see if the shot drops before I decide if I am going to call a foul" thing that seems to be getting worse. This is actually a way bigger issue, than one athlete, that polarizes with his behaviour. But noone actually talks about that. It gets treated like some gentleman agreement or something completely natural and valid, that ref's are allowed to treat players differently.
It's always DMC in the media and noone ever asks the question, if he actually has a point, when he complains about the ref's. It just feels like everybody dodges this question.
Stop crying about DMC. He gets away with just as much physical behavior as his opponents do. He flails his arms/body just about every time he gets fouled and other players around him are constantly getting hit in the face and head by his arms and hands.
Also, it's "LOL" that you would complain about him not getting calls 2 days after he absolutely spit his mouthpiece at an opponent and got away with it. You realize if he was ejected, we probably lose that game, right? We wouldn't be talking about being tied for the 8th seed.
KingsFanGER and I are talking about the discrepancies across the league in how bigs and guards, superstars and role players, fan favorites or villains are called or not called for fouls. And how much liberty the refs take with calling a foul one minute to the next depending on "reasons" rather than calling it consistently across the board. Don't let that get in the way of your hatred by all means.Stop crying about DMC. He gets away with just as much physical behavior as his opponents do. He flails his arms/body just about every time he gets fouled and other players around him are constantly getting hit in the face and head by his arms and hands.

Oh and btw. DMC is one of the league leaders in personal fouls per game. And out of the Top10 in personal fouls per game only Giannis and Andrew Harrison are playing guard or wing. Everyone else is a big. Just saying....

Cuz started out his career with the refs treating him subpar, due to a reputation he did not deserve. This caused him to become angry with refs, starting a positive feedback loop. It's not all his fault. One thing I noticed after the special postgame interview was that the refs might have actually listened and even gave him some superstar treatment. Maybe things are going to change now, and he can escape the cycle. Boogie don't mess it up!

From the excerpts so far, Karl doesn't sound very self- reflective.Sean Cunningham @SeanCunningham 12h12 hours ago
George Karl's book:
1. Wanted to trade DeMarcus Cousins
2. GK doesn't value centers - Vlade does cuz he was one
3. GK - No authority w/ SAC

George Karl's Book:
4. DMC super talented, played hurt, passionate
5. DMC "a bully, a sullen child; lacked maturity"

That ought to sum up the Kings portion of George Karl's upcoming book "Furious George." Much of which should not be shocking to anyone.
Glad Sean summarized it. Now I don't have to waste time even wondering what else the bitter old man had to say.

read that whole twitter comment thread... I can't remember when I have seen a person take such an ass whooping on twitter as Meyers did for that little interview. LOL funny
It's about what I'd expect Karl to think/say if he wasn't trying to sell a book, so a little surprised he didn't cause more controversy or antagonize anyone around here more than that.
Wonder if there is some minor clause in his contract that is partially shutting him up.
