DeMarcus Cousins : "Bynum doesn't deserve to touch the trophy!"

Nobody says they are close to being similar. What was said was that Dalembert and Whiteside have two similarities when it comes to strength - shot blocking and rebounding.

Actually both qualities are their standout qualities that make them good basketball players. Of course when it comes to rebounding, one is already a proven legit NBA rebounder and the other one is a rookie who has shown "potential" of being a good rebounder. If some people say Dalembert cannot play PF because you are wasting his shotblocking talent and rebounding talent. Asking him to go out and guard a PF on the perimeter not only takes him away from the basket, but makes him somewhat a liability on defense. Again, it just doesn't make any sense if it applies only to Dalembert, but not to Whiteside. We are talking about shot blocking and rebounding here which happens to be both players' greatest strength. I cannot believe what applies to one did not apply to the other in this case.

Or maybe because Whiteside made those shot blocking in the NCAA away from the basket?

Whiteside is considerably more mobile than Dalembert, at least in theory, and he has a faceup jumper to make him a viable PF option on offense. Combined with his lack of bulk (may fill in) it is the rest of his game other than the shotblocking which suggests a Keon Clark/young Camby type PF. Dalembert really doesn't have any part of his game which suggests PF.

Preytell, what kind of offense are you expecting from Dalembert when he standing 17 feet away from the basket. His jumpshot is very erratic, and you don't want him handling the ball out there. Thats a turnover waiting to happen. On the other hand, Whiteside actually handles the ball pretty well, and has a nice jumpshot from 15 to 17 feet. He's capable of putting the ball on the floor and driving to the basket. Dalembert can't do that. Whiteside's biggest weakness is his poor passing abiltiy. I don't look at it as a long term liability, but in the short term it will limit what he can and can't do on the offensive end. Even defensively, he doesn't have an outlet pass. I think someone mentioned that Whitesides post game was not quite as good as Cousins. That comment is almost laughable. I'll just let it go with that. Defensively, Whiteside would have trouble in man defense in the post. Thats probably why the Kings see him as a PF. The two times he had to guard someone as big as he was but heavier, he got killed.
You are basically talking about offense here.

I think in the first place, Dalembert shouldn't be camping out in offense ALL the time as the power forward. He should be moving in-and-out of the paint in coordination with Cousins. So I don't see him as a liability on offense playing power forward. Besides, Cousins has a pretty good outside shot. If Cousins decides to take those outside shots, then Dalembert goes in at the post for possible rebounding and put-backs/dunks.

Regarding Whiteside, pair him with Cousins or Thompson. Cousins will guard the bigger body on defense if you are worried about Whiteside not able to defend bigger bodies.

Maybe what I am trying to say here is that Center and Power Forward positions can be interchangeable according to situations. And the Kings should be looking at trying it as well.

well to be honest the only guys who can touch that trophy in my opinion is ugh artest and probably at some extent gasol... kobe cant in my opinion cause he choked in the final game...

ok moving on

I like what cousins is saying... and i hope brings the goods to back up what he said and starts beasting it. cause we can all agree bynum is so overrated and im sort of sick of how they say he has the best bigman as his teacher... yet he shows no tremendous improvement only knee injuries.

lets just see how cousins will fare

Yea, some people will see it that way about kobe also. Can't blame Cousins for calling out Bynum.

we need someone with attitude on this team. we've been getting pushed around for a couple seasons now with guys like k-mart on the team. as long as cousins contributes on the court i'm all for smack talking. that's what made the nba entertaining before david stern tightened the leash on everything

Is this you?:D

It's actually not, but my brother is a Lakers fan (cringe), so he often visits that site. I have a look at it sometimes, and I had been keeping an eye on that particular thread. Poor guy didn't know what he was getting himself in for. Was thinking of joining the battle, but as Baja's sig says, it's hard to have a battle of wits with an unarmed person. They're all really, really dumb. Wouldn't waste my time.

This lakersground.net has a lot of clueless members a few more knowlegeable ones. Most of them are saying things like "Bynum will DESTROY that kid next year" and that DeMarcus is a scrub thats going to bust. Comparing DMC to JaMarcus Russell etc etc.

When a couple of them (the ones that actually knows bball) tells them that DeMarcus is a stud and is way better than Bynum as a rookie, the rest of the forum clowns on these guys (their own laker fans).

I haven't visited LG in at least five years. Didn't know it was still around.

That's a sad bunch of people(can we call them people?) on that site. I'm seriously at the point where I really truly believe that laker fans live in their little nutshell world and have an extremely hard time grasping anything remotely outside of their world. It's beyond ridiculous at the moment. I seriously deeply cannot stand laker fans.

These same sad bunch also posted YouTube videos of Bibby's face fouling kobe's elbow and laughing about it. They used that in a thread about Cousins & Bynum as a way to say Cousins sucks because he is a King just like Bibby was..... I know it doesn't make sense but thats the way they operate.

lg.net is a good site for laughs from other nba team fans. they have some of the most delusional fan comments i've read. some of it is just unreal. i sat there reading after the fakers lost gm5 and some seemed ready to riot.

The stupidity of Laker fans will never cease to amaze me. My favorite intelligent post:
RDMC is the type of troll I hate the most.

You can see he's been trawling around on other forums. He turns things around as he pleases under the mask of 'Intelligent arguments'. No matter what you say and how you will prove him wrong - he will counter with terms such as 'almost' 'minimal' and 'just as' to prove his FALSE statements.

Dude, you are clearly not worth anyones time here. You will go on blaberring ish for hours and never admit that you are wrong even when you clearly are.

I would highly recommend to all true Laker fans of this board and in this thread in particular to

NOT ANSWER YOU AND LET YOU HANG OUT TO DRY.

DON'T FEED THE TROLL

This was in regards to the aforementioned Kentucky fan making intelligent comments in clear concise paragraphs.

Now I really hope Cousins makes Bynum look silly just for the poor poster's sake.
