DeMarcus and the Rookie/Sophomore game

Dime Dropper

All-Star
Not sure if this should be in this forum or the NBA one, but given that most will be discussing our guy, seems fitting to have it here.

Here's to hoping he plays well, has fun and comes out of this thing injury-free.

For those who weren't paying attention (like me, who assumed the game was tomorrow) - the game is tonight, 6PM Pacific, on TNT.

Pretty interesting to hear the interview with Lebron on now. Talking about his off season he said he broke everything down and went back to the fundamentals. Not only worked with Hakeem in Hou, but also sought out Magic, Bird, West, and Isaiah Thomas for advice.

Why I find that interesting is because I'm a strong proponent of Reke ditching his brothers and working with some real top of the line coaches and ex-players. The top current NBA players seek out HOF's to work with in the off season to both work with them and pick their brains.

I know Reke works out in LA with Rose and Westbrook for part of the summers, but I'd really like to hear that he's seeking out advice from the best and working with the best instead of listening to his brothers tell him "you just need to shoot it like you did in high school. It's all confidence".

His brothers and Lamont Peterson don't cut it, and haven't cut it. Seek out GP who trains guys in Vegas and the bay area. Even Lin worked with GP last summer. He has an open invitation to work with Christie. Mark Price works with NBAers to fix their shots and was recently working with Rondo.

I hope next season we're hearing how Reke worked with and sought out some more elite help.

Five minutes in, Cousins 5-5, 4 dunks, outscoring Team Shaq singlehandedly (10-7) and about to go to the line for 2 shots. (Insert random disparaging remark here?)

They figured out DMC is in a whole other league compared to these guys and took him out for good. It's only fair for the rest of the guys.

Um, he just got a dunk so apparently he's not out for good. ;)

Really? That's funny.

Yeah, they just showed some clips of the guys that are mic'd up. I'm pretty sure it was DeMarcus he was talking to.

Guards are starting to take over this one, major chucking going on. Rubio with some nice highlights. And John Wall is probably the quickest player in the NBA.

Irving is going to be much, much better than people expect.

They figured they should allow the rest of the guys to have a chance to play with a future All-Star so they can tell their grandchildren one day that they played with him in the Rising Stars game. :p

Anyone else get the feeling that DMC and Monroe are actually battling it out with a lot of effort?

Crap, i thought the game was on NBATV so i recorded the rising stars challenge....Interviews. I missed the whole game up until the last 5 mins of the second half.

Great conversation by 2 HOF big men and 1 ex-King about how great Cousins can be and should be. They even brought up about giving him tips and such. Very exciting to see!

Shaq's advice was probably "wait until your contract ends and ask to get traded to LA."

But seriously, it's no secret how good DMC can be. He's got the the size, youth, and talent all on his side. Just needs some time to improve and Kings can have the best big in the game.

anyone else notice that john wall didnt really give cousins any love. last year they were throwing alley oops to each other a lot. this year, didnt see that so much. wall mostly passing to irving and paul george. and in the end, had 2 chances to set up cousins and waived him off. i mean johns walls dunks were great, but woulda been nice to show the big guy some love in the end like last year

That dunk by wall will probably be better than anything tomorrow. Never seen a worse dunk contest lineup.

I expect that Evans should be pretty good. But I'd really like to see a McGee/Griffin rematch. (I thought McGee actually had it last year, Kia or no, headcase or no.)
