December 13 City Council Meeting

You know you are a Kings fan if you are either at or watching a Sac City Council meeting live on your computer...

Grrr... detest board members who do not understand finance... I wonder if they just act confused to say whatever they want.

Who's the council woman who appeared to not know what the hell is going on? What is complicated about this? It's as if this is her first day on the job. Is that Sheedy?

Can the city do it ourselves? Why the hell are you asking that now?

I like Russ the Treasurer... I feel bad for smart people who have to explain basic financial concepts to people who do not or refuse to understand basic financial terms...

Yeah... the one without the basic concept of time value of money...

Sheedy and Cohn are friggin idiots. The arena is practically going to be free if this works(no tax dollars) and they are looking at this whole parking thing as a way to squeeze money out of the arena building process and into the city's stupid general fund. They don't care about jobs, businesses, etc. They have no idea what they're talking about when it comes to business.

No more Sheedy! Please! It's painful!

yeah she is a moron. "CAN THE CITY DO THIS OURSELVES?". Obviously not or they would've done it before. The whole reason to sell the parking spots is to get money now to build the arena so people will come and use the parking! No arena and people aren't going to come and park there just for the hell of it. She's so stupid!!!!!

If Sheedy wanted to do something, then why hasn't it been done? Where were her proposal?

Christ, she doesn't even understand what an investment is. She wants to put the money in a bank?

Were people laughing at her in the background?

I'm watching this. It's my first taste of Sheedy and already i can't stand her! You can just tell she's totally committed to throwing a monkey wrench into things in any way possible.

Sheedy doesn't know what they're discussing, or why they're there. Wow. This is like teaching a 2 yr old how to tie his shoes for the first time.

Many more applauded her when she asked what they'd do in the case of another lockout.

I'm not very informed on exactly what the meeting is about and what they need to get a passing vote. Can someone fill me in on the basics?

That guy made a good point. How much revenue/jobs has Sac lost because the politicians have failed to capitalize on all their parking garages, hence the empty neighboring restaurants.

Occupy Wall Streeters seem to be in favor of a new ESC. Sheedy's argument is kind of getting torn to pieces by the public comments.

Voting tonight on going ahead with leasing Sac city owned parking garages, which can bring in an upfront payment of 170-216M, going towards the arena, the cities portion.

they need the authorization to vote on the parking contract bidding for the railyards to get the money for the ESC. Yes vote means it proceeds and they can take offers from companies who want to operate the parking garages, no would basically stop everything.

How many votes are needed to proceed?

Now this dumb lady jan is saying they should not approve this thing because of big corporations... this lady is an IDIOT. She thinks small businesses would pay for this thing themselves 100% if this is a good investment. She has no idea what she's talking about.
