Starting to become really clear he's right there in that tier with Mitchell/Tatum .

He's better! Vlade wouldn't swap Fox for either one, no way. De'Aaron looks an inch or an inch and a half taller than Mitchell standing next to him too.

Mitchell is a dynamo at finishing at the rim, but he drains the shotclock bigtime and De'Aaron isn't that way at all, he does major damage consistently in short spans of time with just a few dribbles.

People didn’t have long term picture in mind. All they saw was there and then, why aren’t kids getting more minutes, why are we playing veterans, Joerger is looking after his record etc.

It was nothing like that. Kids were developing, learning from the vets. There is no reason why the kids could not run like last year other than we were teaching them how to play before they could run. Look at the results so far this season.

imagine a 3 year plan taking 3 years to come together... so much of the fan base got lost and confused it was/is kind of a trip.

That 41% from 3 pt. land is absurd. No way would I think he could do that in Year 2. Maybe in Year 3 or 4. And I think we've had a big enough sample size to think that it's not an aberration. Fox is going to be an All Star for years to come after the Kings get in the playoffs. I hope it's very soon.

Now people are seeing why I said I'd take FOX #1 in that draft and why I said not to jump to conclusions in the 1st year or two. We can't even really make judgements now, either.

It's like the Tyreke Evans and Steph Curry example I've used many times. After year 1, Tyreke had the edge and looked like a star. Steph just looked like a good player. But by year 3 or 4, it was clear Steph was head and shoulders a better player.

We don't know how Fultz, Ball, Tatum, Jackson, Fox and Mitchell will all still look 3 years from now. But I'm on record saying that I feel FOX will be the best of the bunch. I can see Mitchell ending up like Steve Francis. Once he starts to lose some of the explosive athleticism, he may not be able to keep this up. He's not a big dude. Meanwhile, speed and quickness can stay with a player like FOX longer. Plus he's got good length for the position.

I'm guessing the parenthetical means it's tongue-in-cheek. Assuming so, it's funny to me how so many (not you) thought De'Aaron was a poor shooter. He's never been a poor shooter. He did have a bad stretch at UK, but that happens to players from time to time. But he's always had good form and has typically had a good jump shot. It was just a matter of time until people saw it.

One thing I said leading up to the 2017 draft was that, with De'Aaron's work ethic and the fact that he'd be able to concentrate on his game full time after college, his shot wouldn't be a problem long term. We're seeing that now. Good form+great work ethic+smart player = success.

I just salivate over how good of a player he could potentially become.

Not much beyond experience. Or just learning to completely take over games when his teammates don't have it on certain nights.

I love how Foxy proves the defense into the lane and uses his body and quick shiftyness to create space for a shot or pass. Very Tony Parker like. He is very under control in the paint and it's only going to get better. Dude can get a shot whenever he feels like it, it seems. Kudos to him for the hard work and study he put into the offseason.

I dont think any PG has really outplayed him yet this year head to head. And he has gone against some real good ones. Be interesting to see his matchup vs Curry.

Fox is doing everything well. His one flaw recently is leaving his feet without knowing where he is going to pass the ball. He is getting more patient in the paint. He has great hop and hang time. His defense at the end of last night's game against the Spurs deserves more mention.

I think this is one of the primary reasons that Vlade thought that Bagley would be a better fit with Fox. Vlade did not want to take the ball out of his young point guards hands. Vlade knew that he had a potential superstar in Fox at PG and knew he needed the ball to be most effective.

Fast forward to what Dallas and the Lakers did with getting ball dominant running mates (Doncic and LeBron) and you can see the stunted growth of the other 2 point guards. I think both DSJ and Ball have regressed this year.

Fox is most dominant when he is the primary trigger man and the team goes as he goes. Fox's 3 point shot is looking good too. Once Bagley gets his feet wet and earns his way into the starting line up, the Kings will have a rim rocking running big man for Fox to feed the ball.

The Kings will have both an ultra fast inside and outside unstoppable forces once our young "Super Team" matures!

Actually, I think the most room for growth is passing - vision and decision making when he drives to the basket.

It's been a while since we had a player who could master the game of basketball like Fox. Once you have ticked off your skill toolbox you transcend to controlling flow, momentum, chemistry, etc. There's a reason you instantly feel better when he's on the floor, you can sense that extra level he brings. Get ready for more of that.

Given the glut of high performing guards in the west its hard to see when he will crack the all star realm. He most likely will have to 'pay his dues' regardless of his performance but we all know he has arrived.

He most certainly is our MVP and is more than appreciated by all in Kings land.

If you want to really wrap your mind around how great Fox could become, here is a fascinating stat: For every shot attempt he's made this season, he is producing 1.45 points. This is Jerry Reynold's old method of scoring efficiency.

For some perspective, Curry's efficiency in Yr 2 was 1.3, in Yr 3 it was 1.29, in Yr 4 it was 1.29, and this year, in his 10th year, it is 1.49. Durant's efficiency in Yr 2 was 1.35. In his third year it was 1.48; this year it is 1.51. Lillard's scoring efficiency was 1.3 in Yr 2, 1.26 in Yr 3, 1.27 in Yr 4, and for this year in his 7th season it is 1.41.

If Fox keeps up this kind of scoring efficiency, we're looking at a real phenom. No doubt about it.

Quite a bit. He's taken an unreal leap this season (he somehow has a better 3pt% than Buddy lol), but I think he has a ton left to keep developing with his playmaking ability and taking care of the ball. Turnovers have been the only thing he hasn't really improved on from his rookie season, but maintaining his turnover rate while drastically increasing his AST rate is a good start. Free Throws too absolutely need to improve, but I think we'll start seeing some positive regression there in the next 10 games or so.
