Brown is from Pops tree.Even if Pop comes back, I don't think he'd stick around for too much longer with his age and health issues.
Hey! Maybe they can hire Brown! Fox loves the guy!

They'll never be the Lakers or GSW but they are pretty dang close.
I don’t thing GMs feel the same way about future picks. They want the flexibility to use them for trades. I don’t believe they have less value than now picks
If the leaks last week are to be believed Monte is the talent picker, Wes is the negotiator.
I don't have the slightest clue but that was what was alluded to on DLo's show when all this first broke.Interesting. So you think Wes makes the deals and not Monte?

Honestly I think they will get Kerr.
So you think that GMs believe a pick is a pick regardless of its rank in the draft? And a 1st rounder 10 years from now is worth the same as a 1st rounder today? I can't buy into that. Makes no sense to me.

AMEN! Said it years ago and got jumped for it. The character of this team will shine brighter without him.I'm likely in the huge minority here, but I'm not going to sugarcoat it, I've never been a huge fan of Fox. I don't think he's a true PG, I don't think he's the "superstar" he seems to think he is, I think he throws negative body language half the time, doesn't play to his full potential most of the time, think he's disingenuous in most things he says and does, and personally, I'm GLAD he's gone. He sure as hell isn't worth the SuperMax or anything close to it. I've been a fan since '85 (I'm old), and am actually optimistic about the future of the Kings, much more so than I was before the trade.
Either Zach does command the attention, which helps Monk, or he doesn't... which means a 44% three point shooter is going to be getting awesome open looks.
Matt George does know that 24 PPG on 63% TS is really ****ing hard to do right?
And while I associate him with Pop and Lute he could take a page out of Phil Jackson's playbook and jump from one generational talent to the next. That would fit. Just like the GS Gen. Manager left at the top, Kerr will not be with GS much longer.

That's been what DLO has been rolling with. "Monte's bag is draft and talent eval. Wes does everything else" Or Something to that extent.
We got the monkey off our backs with Fox leaving. I'm not nearly as heartbroken as I was with Cousins being sent out, I don't know why, but I am just not. Maybe it's because of how we traded Cousins, but I don't think Fox was on the same talent level as Cousins (man, if only he could have kept his cool even halfway under control). I don't have the sense of dread either. Somehow, it feels like it's going to work out. I definitely have a feeling there is at least one more trade incoming. Roster is far too unbalanced now, it needs some tidying up.
The unprotected Min FRP is a lottery ticket. I'm sure front offices have some sort of model that provides a probability weighted value based on a lot of factors (current ranking of team, historical performance, ownership uncertainty, age of stars, etc.), but at this far in the future it feels like it could just as easily end up being a lottery pick as a pick in the 20's. That uncertainty is what gives it its current relatively high value.no a top 5 pick is not worth the same as a 20/ pick but I do think future unprotected picks have great value even if they are 6 years down the road
How did we not get at least the ATL pick???

This trade is not final yet. Rumors are the Kings were unaware of the protections on the Charlotte pick. So on brand.
is it not final because the Kings are pulling out of the deal?
I am so down for this

I think it was Marks who mentioned it, but even if the Kings got that pick it would have likely been protected. No way is someone giving up even a slight chance at Flagg for Fox in this situation.
I made it up upthread? lolwhere did you see this rumor?

It is really interesting the amount Doug had Fox playing off ball. It was a definite shift. I'm honestly not really worried about what this does with our offense. Fox has been living off his clutch player of the year rep for two years now without great results (does this mean we don't get to hear Kayte talk about it anymore"Gravity" looked OK when Fox has been out. Go figure. Leave LaVine 1 on 1 and the stats most seasons say he's at Fox's level or beyond. Hmmm... this is why you don't assess players while injury riddled or playing out of their mind. Like most players he's probably somewhere in the middle.
Source?
The deal hadn't been sent in because the Bulls had to clear 2 roster spots. I assume us and the Spurs gave them the night to find something, if they could. They just released Duarte and Craig, making them able to complete the trade
Given how weird a bunch of the teams ahead of us are looking, we can probably make a run for a regular playoff slot.If the Kings can land Jonas this team might be set up perfectly for a play in push.
