what if he came out and said. "Im getting rid of Tyreke and DeMarcus. Jimmer will be our new starting PG, and were going to bring in Monta Ellis and build around him"

lol :p

Watching the presser. Hey guys, I think we're trading Demarcus. None of our head guys seem to like him

It is nice to have two hires that seem to be very positive, and are respected around the league. They have a vision for where they want to take this team, and how they want to get there. So let's hope they make the right moves this off season and from here on out. Fingers crossed these two hires are the start of a bright new era in Kings basketball.

IMO Pete was a little bit too excited or nervous (most likely both). However, I trust Vivek's acumen and I am sure that D'Alessandro is way above average mind. Hopefully, it will translate into being a great GM.

My word, D'alessandro is the polar opposite of Geoff Petrie in personality.

That is a good thing.

Yeah, he's certainly more talkative than Geoff. But here's what was interesting to me - in terms of talking about the roster, philosophy, analytics etc he gave answers but revealed little. On the continuum of David Khan ("if he's there at our spot, here's exactly who we plan to draft") and Geoff Petrie ("the draft presents an array of possibilities, and thus doesn't necessarily dictate that we use that pick to draft a player") he was actually closer to the Petrie side of things as it relates to giving specifics to the media.

I liked hearing that his tendency is to be aggressive and yet felt no need to impulsively make a bunch of moves just to usher in his era as GM. Given who was available I'm happy with this hire. My understanding is that the front office has been decimated by budget cuts by the Maloofs over the last few years so there quite a staff to put in place going forward. I also wonder if they will keep Petrie on board in any capacity. I still think given the resources he is a solid talent evaluator, one aspect of D'Alessandro that I worry about.

two sentence guide to all posts by Tetsujin: assume he's being sarcastic. you'll be right 90% of the time.

When he talked about how all teams have analytic departments but only a couple use them well...I had two thoughts.

1.) We had an analytics department?

2.) YES!! Finally.

Nuggets jump on Tim Connelley for their new GM. Wonder if they had targeted him all along, and D'A moving made it easier to hire him? Sounds like the guy is well thought of in NBA circles.

So much good will heading forward after watching that press conference.. kinda amazing how in a few weeks Maloofs/Petrie/Smart has turned into Vivek and Co/D'Allesandro/Malone

How come no body ask about Tyreke's situation? I'd love to get an idea from coach Malone or GM D'Alessandro about him.
