Dalembert Signing...with Houston!!

AK47 wouldn't be a bad consolation either!!

I know the Kings need a big, but I have held all-along I would much rather roll the dice with AK47 than Dalembert. AK47 is pure black evil in the eyes of opponents; a defensive menace; he's like a jousting knight riding on the back of a dragon...wait... scratch that last one... and just what this team could use... then you trade away some capspace and some of the extra SFs and get a big.

dalembert means the difference between winning around 35 games this season with him, or 20-22 without him.

lol. 10-15 win deferential is what happens when you lose one of your two or three best players, and maybe not even then. Losing Dalembert costs you a few games, that''s it.

I would like to chime in once again with my pro-Whiteside nonsense. Why doesnt someone just sit Hassan down and say "try to block absolutely everything, even your own teammates."? I dont care if this guy just wildly jumps up and trys to block free throws. Give the guy some burn!

i agree, just let the guy play. we have nothing to lose. we were in the lottery last year. how much worse could it get? play him, we win games, he gets experience or play him, we lose games and get a high lottery pick.

Eff you Sammy!! Congrats, you're our new Olden Polynice! Hope you enjoy the nice warm welcome we'll give you your first game back with YOUR Rockets!

From what I saw in the first preseason game, he looks very far from ready to play in this league. Playing him decent minutes at this stage would make our team worse, bring down morale and his own self-confidence. I understand that at some point, he will only get better by playing but from one preseason game, admittedly a small sample size, I dont think he is not even ready for that yet.

Whiteside is a bonehead who is too immature for his own good. I don't see him growing up or embracing any kind of role with this team.

Clearly Sammy was using the Kings. His announcement last night to Fox Sports South Florida was a total surprise to the Kings, Petrie, Maloofs, etc. according to Sam Amick's article. I assume Petrie called to find out if the interest was serious and quickly figured out that he was using the Kings to push Houston. Good luck with the Rockets there big guy. You just might be a scoring option there.

But...the role he played with us...great compliment to Cuz, defensive stopper, paint clogger, not to mention good help defender...THAT means all the difference!

But they sucked last year until the got Thornton. Thornton was the difference maker, not Dalembert. I'm not saying Dalembert didn't help but I will say that I think lots of people are seriously overvaluing him.

Sounds like they did beat it... but Dalembert wanted to go to Houston all along and is likely all "sour grapes" over the Kings signing Chuck Hayes.

Pretty bizarre story by Amick. Talked to Sammy this morning, Sammy sounded frustrated. The Maloof's had no idea what Sammy was talking about from last night. Who knows where the truth lies, but Sammy did seem butt-hurt over the whole affair.

Really, have you watched the layup drills the last two pre-season games, against a team with one of the weakest interior offenses in the league? Come on here with that overvalued nonsense 20-30 games into the season when we continue to get eaten alive on d.

He WAS our best defender...putting fear into the opposition and making them think twice before bringing it in the paint. People like to talk about GLUE guys...well Sammy was just that for this team, he made it possible for everyone else to play and gamble efficiently on defense, now we're going to settle with no weakside block presence, Cuz/Hickson/JT getting cheap fouls having to recover from getting beat, and no veteran presence down low to show them how its done.

Hope he enjoys losing because he'll have plenty of it in Houston. I would have liked to see him play here this year, especially with Hayes not being able to play. Unlike many Kings fans though, I don't think that the future of the Kings rested on the shoulders of Samuel Dalembert. Losing his defense will suck but let's be real, it's not like we lost Dwight Howard. The Kings will be fine. Just have make a trade or go with a Cousins/Hickson FC and hope for the best.
Errr....yeah!

They way this team is constructed now, I am not sure we can throw stones at Houston in terms of loserville!

We are on the verge of becoming the next GSW...all offense and no defense! Apparently a PF is "radically different in our system" which means expect to see Reke at PF at times this year and all that leads to is perennial lottery teams that go nowhere.

Lets just say that I would trade our front office for Houston's front office in a blink of an eye. Remember, Houston has won championships while we have been perennial losers and our GM has never won anything as a player nor has he ever delivered a championship as a GM. He likes sexy basketball, shooters and passers, the soft scrawny little ****s that don't win in this league.

The most alarming thing in all this, we were BETTER at the end of last season than we are at the start of this season and that is despite our owners and our front office shoving bull**** down our throat telling us how THIS is the off-season when we make the big splash! We couldn't even keep our freaking team together let alone get better. Its a joke!

Yeah, I'm a bit alarmed at our off season. First, you hope Evans and Cousins improve which would be the major source of growth. Thornton here for the whole season is also a plus. But bringing in Salmons, Outlaw, Hickson and Jimmer vs Dalembert, Beno, and Casspi is better from a talent standpoint but I don't know that the team improved that much due to those changes and we are going to once again get destroyed inside.

What frustrates me most isn't that we didn't just spend this offseason. You can set a team back big time by being stupid with dollars. It's that we never seem to be a step ahead in our planning. Geoff's a great talent evaluator but we don't ever move aggressively to aqcuire assets, position ourselves, stock draft picks, etc. We draft really well, make trades for underperformers and then just sign random parts that never really seem to fit. What exactly is the game plan now?

It hilarious how people are bagging Delembert here but lets look at our front office first shall we?!

We treated him like a thug this off-season, low balled him to start off with. Signed Hayes and turned our back on Dalembert. Then Hayes fails the physical and then all of a sudden we love Sam we want him back he is great!

We haven't exactly come out of this episode smelling of roses anyway. We burnt our bridges and then tried to rebuild then when the need arised. It's always easy to point the fingers at others but we need to look at our own house first because god knows we have made an enormous amounts of **** ups in the last decade.

The problem is him saying he would sign with us last night. Had he never said that nothing would be said about Sam. He used to get better offer

What's odd is that he either used it for a better offer in which case we were offering less than 7M/year (shame on us) or he said it an then took a smaller offer from Houston (which is just random and totally pointless).

The problem is him saying he would sign with us last night. Had he never said that nothing would be said about Sam. He used to get better offer

And then we rescinded our offer!

Now why would that be the case?! We issued a statement that we rescinded our offer! Did Dalembert have a choice in the end?!

But I guess its always someone else's fault never of our precious front office!

I can't say I'm at all surprised by his actions. Even though he was free to sign wherever he wanted, he used us for leverage and I bet he had no intentions of signing back here. This is the 2nd time he's turned his back on me as a basketball fan. We need a player of his defensive caliber, but.....so long Sammy, don't let the door hit you in the *** on your way out
