Dalembert Signing...with Houston!!

I am not sure why we would want to free up cap space for better free agents in the future. Better free agents were available this year and we didn't sign them despite having more cap money available than any other team in the NBA. We either are unwilling to pay for a great player or the players don't want to come here no matter what. Not sure why that would change next year. We are in no position of power.

This is the first quality vet to sign here voluntarily since Vlade.

We might be a more attractive destination if we were to win more games this season.

Down the road, when we're a competitive playoff team, and the arena is rocking again, I think we'll have an easier time attracting FA's. Right now we're a non playoff team in an empty arena.

We will definetly have one of the deepest frontcourts as well as teams overall, should help in this congested season

pg:Tyreke/Jimmer/Thomas
sg:Thornton/Tyreke/Garcia
sf:Salmons/Outlaw/Garcia/Greene/Honeycutt
pf:Cousins/Hickson/Thompson/Outlaw
C:Dalembert/Cousins/Thompson/Whiteside

we legit will have 10 to 11 guys that can play in this league now. thats without counting rookies like Thomas and Honeycutt, who i like what i see so far. Hopefully Dally isn't too out of shape and can in be fine by mid January.

This just had to happen.Sacramento was not Samuel's first choice and it was looking like finding another experienced big was getting close to impossible. Who knows what else is going to happen but the more I think about it the more I like it. I say sign him up quick like.

I hope we sign him for at least 2 years (no team or player options) just to get his bird rights. If we sign him for one year, we would have to fit him under the cap again next year if we decide to bring him back.

I would like to have the flexibility of having him for 2 years. I see it as being very low risk, especially at the price that is being mentioned. If things don't work out this season (IMHO, unlikely) he is always an easy movable piece with an expiring deal and the type of player that teams are always willing to taken a punt on.

So, Sam Amick tells me that there's no contract done, and that there's no verbal agreement either. Not cool, nervousness creeping back.

Indeed...now we're strong. I also think the Whiteside experiment might be over already too.

geesh guys...i thought it was a done deal and was thrilled about the 7mill/2years. After reading the article, they're still in talk mode.

Even tho he betrayed my country, i'll welcome him back with open arms. He does have a heart, and i saw that when he made all those donations to Haiti.
2 Years, 16 Mil with second year team option would make me happy. If I was GP i would pay a little extra money to make that second year a Team option.

Dalembert/Cousins/Thompson
Cousins/Hickson/Thompson
Salmons/Outlaw
Scoreton/Jimmer
Evans/Jimmer/IT

......This makes us the deepest team in the league me thinks.

Is there any way that Hickson can play the 3? I would love to have Hickson, Cousins and Sammy all getting good minutes.
Can we combine Boogie and Sammy into one All-Star player? lol

Absolutely the right price and right length of contract. Came in below what I expected. Now let's see what shape he's in; maybe he got a low contract because he's not going to be ready to play for a month.

With a healthy, end-of-last-season-playing Dalembert playoffs aren't out of the question for this team. They have talent. Kings could definitely attract some FA talent next offseason, especially if Sam's deal is a one year (or opt-out) deal plus using amnesty. That's a nice chunk of cap opening up again for an up and coming team.

At 7$ million for Sammy that should still leave about 7-8$ million for AK! It's time for the Maloofs to fly to Russia and start begging...

getting Dalembert was a huge pickup to a team who has no other shot blocker/alterer. I liked him and cousins A LOT last year especially last two months. losing Sammy would likely mean a LOT more foul trouble for cousins, and a return to the old ole, layup line drills teams used to run on us for the past 4-5 years.

if we got AK somehow I'd be super happy about this offseason and I think we'd be legit playoff contenders. let's get it done! cisco can rot on the bench for all I care, his one 20 point game a year doesn't make up for all of his shortcomings

4?
Hickson, Cousins, Dally and ??? JT? Donte? Jimmer?

Seriously, though, JT needs to stop this invisible man stuff... he is normally so fired up and firey...where has that gone?

yes 4 Hickson, Cousins, Dally and JT he mite not be a top flight but he can rebound and defend and hustle

What bugs me about JT lately is that he has had opportunities to get some big minutes without Dally or Cousins in the first game and without Dally in the second game... but comes out flat... C'mon JT!

He's probably bummed because of the acquisition of Hickson (and Hayes before) and with the fact he's going to have very few shot attemps this season.

JT has never struck me as a guy who needs shots to be happy and well, if he is, he's SOL.

I also never questioned JT's motor... he was, to a fault, agressive all the time... but last night, he just didn't look the same. C'mon JT! C'mon!
