So I am strongly considering getting rid of Directv. Our bill is now $140 a month with no premium channels. It's almost doubled in the last 4 years. I am considering going to sling tv, which would be about $40 a month.

If I do this, how can I still get CSN to watch Kings games? There does not seem to be an option for local sport channels.

I'm surprised. When I had Directv they were usually accommodating when I mentioned that I was looking at switching. I eventually left and got Dish. I'm pretty sure I'll switch again when the two years are up (Dish was not accommodating when I had them the first time).

Let them give YOU a reason to stay. Directv is still trying to get me back, just like Dish was the first time.

Hmmm, looks like Sling does have CSN. They currently don't have MLB Network or NBA TV, those are the only two channels I can think of that I would want that I would not get.

Interesting. I remember checking a couple months ago and I thought I remember seeing something along the lines of "coming soon." Which package has CSN?

THERE IS AN OPTION! Its called Playstation VUE! The best thing is that you do not have to have a playstation game console in order to sign up. You simply need a high speed internet connection and a compatible device such as a Rokue, Kindle Fire Stick, Kindle Fire TV, Iphones and Ipads, or Playstation game console. Its starts as low as $34.99 a month to get a package that includes CSNCA. That particular package also comes with 70+ GOOD channels (No infomercial BS) including all the popular news channels. Also did i mention, NO CONTRACTS. Don't like it? Cancel it. Other points to mention, it includes a DVR system, on screen guide, and on demand features. They also have a "catch up" feature that allows you to go back in time and watch huge amount airings from previous days, even if you forgot to record them. I've been using it for about 6 months now and its amazing.

The only downsides are these. You have to have unlimited data or a huge data cap (like 500GB a month) for it to work because the service is completely internet based, like netflix. Also a fast internet connection helps. The interface is also not as smooth and responsive as, lets say DirecTV. Once you get used to it, its not a problem though. Overall for $35/mo and No contracts....there is really nothing to lose.

This is coming from a DirecTV loyalist too.. i really liked that company and their service, but in the end I couldn't argue against getting more features for significantly less cost.

Do they currently carry Comcast SportsNet? Been waiting to cut to cord and it still says coming soon for CSN on Slings website...

This site says that Sling has CSN: http://www.techhive.com/article/290...nd-all-the-restrictions-all-in-one-chart.html

But the main Sling page does have a tiny icon saying "coming soon". I'm not a Sling subscriber so I can't say.

At any rate, the Playstation Vue service lists CSN on its $35 tier currently. The options to cut cable are becoming available.

I'm glad this topic is being brought up. I have COX and I pay way too much a month, when I look at the options for Sling and Vue, I don't see NBA TV, NFL Network & MLB Network...unless I'm missing something?
