Cutino ... Patience ... Acceptance

Cutino is drivin' me crazy .... just when you wanna get on him for doing something foolish ... he does something that picks-up the entire team.

Adelman & Staff have got to be getting older by the minute ...

Dude has got game and he can be hot one game or part of it and then completely cold for a stretch or an entire game. But, he's come thru when it's really counted.

I never really knew the defintion of "he's a streaky player" till Cutino came into town.

Don't get me wrong, I love Cutino and I'm glad he's a King. His style of play is exciting and fearless.

He's offensive style is sorta like B-Jax ... "I got the ball ... I'm going to the hole ... it's 1 vs 5".

^Yeah, Cat reminds me of Bobby too! :D

It's like what Cat says..."I'm too aggressive to struggle."

I wished he would take more shots in the context of the offense.

That's my only real complaint. It is hard to knock a guy that has the stones to take clutch shots. Not only that but he competes!!

What a Thought !!!!

You talk about DYNAMIC DUO .... I can see Coach Adelman now, either pumping his fists in SHEER EXCITEMENT or cupping his face in his hands looking down saying "my gawd, what are these guys thinkin' ???".

although i agree with what you are saying about Cat...ill say that he'll get better has the days go on...and ofcourse with more practice time

as for BJax and Cat on the floor at the same WHOA! I think thats gonna be hot...i think they'll feed off of each others energy...they are very similar in a way...with both of them you kinda have to take the good with the bad

I think Cutino Mobley is just what the Kings need. I also think that most of the apparent problems with his game is completely understandable and correctable. He will not make so many arguably erratic manuevers after he becomes accustomed to Bibby, Brad and the nature of the Kings' system. Wait until ALL the new forwards are allowed to practice and benefit from Adelman and his excellent assistant coaches.

I am very impressed with how well the Kings are playing in what amounts to high-stakes professional pick-up games.

Cat will be just fine, better than fine. He just won two close games for us, with other solid Kings players, as a relative newcomer. The Kings would have lost in Wash DC had Brad not hit the floor to fight for the last loose ball. The Kings would not have won if Cutino had failed to respond to a split-second opportunity to grab the loose ball and put it up.

I love the Serb guys, but would Peja and Vlade have successfully completed that brawl-and-score play. I doubt it. Two gamers came up with a loose ball and scored in a hopelessly chaotic scene.

Go Cutino, Brad, and Bibby too.

Wait until the kings are healthy and trained.

Whoever gets their hands on the ball first gets to shoot. :)

I'd like to see Mike Bibby, Bobby Jackson, Cutino Mobley, Eddie House and Maurice Evans on the court at once. Mobley, the big guy, could play center. Bobby would be the 5'11'' power forward. Mo could be the small forward. Edie can play the shooting guard.

Team rule for the evening. Nobody gets paid without scoring ten points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.

Wouldn't that be fun?

the cat is streaky but i believe with practice (as a team)he'll get better.I see make a bad pass ,or miss a shot but he's giving 120% every time he's on the floor. He's pretty clutch in crunch time, would'nt bother me to see him take last shot with game on the line.By play off time he should be more in tune with system. I really hope he stays a KING next year.

id pay to see it...it would be entertaining to say the least...

that actually kinda reminds me of a story i heard about Mike Bibby....i heard in the summers when he goes back to Phoenix...he rolls into the Sports Clubs with an entourage...but only his entourage comes to play in the pick up games with him...he has one guy who is a monster on the boards and his gonna get every rebound, he brings one guy who plays defense really well, he brings one guy who is a great passer and then he brings a guy who is gonna set a awesome pick...and then what happens is they get the (defensive) rebound dribble down the court and then Mike shoots the ball every time...and they always win...heh imagine that

lol
i forgot where i heard that from.....???

It will be interesting to see what happens with Cat. when Peja comes back. Cat. loves to shoot the ball. Let's hope the "team" really shines.

I think opponents are eventually going to forget about Peja. I'll bet with Cutino and Bibby moving around and shooting all the time, Peja will be open more than in the recent past.

That would also be torture for the opposing teams

Cat=Clutch. Guy could go 1 for 20 and step up and hit a game winning three, he had a great defensive stop on Arenas(on an iso!) when he needed one. He really reminds me of Bobby.

Totally, but if he doesn't force those 19 misses before that, we don't need a clutch shot at the end. ;)

For real, Cat is starting to annoy me with his ball hogging. As long as he keeps bailing us out at the end we'll overlook it, but what's a better shot, Mobley taking a fadeaway over a double team, or passing to a wide open Bibby/Miller/whoever?

I know, but our offense is really disjointed lately I can't put it all on him. As long as his FG% stays up there I'm allright with it. Bobby tends to do the same thing, but just like Cat when the clock is ticking down they tend to go in. Hopefully we'll see a better shot selection when Peja gets back.

There were a few times when:

Bibby was driving to the hole with a defender at the rim beyond the arch and Skinner was underneath ... Bibby went up and so did the defender ... Skinner was all by himself .... Bibby decided to go up with the shot .... forced shot - missed .... no pass to Skinner... no easy bucket.

There was a similar play with Mobley .... sorta the same scenario ... except there were two defenders and both went up with Cutino to defend the shot .... I think it was Thomas underneath ALL BY HIMSELF once his defender left.... Cutino forced the shot ... missed ... no easy bucket on the pass to the open man underneath.

Sure, it's easier for us to see this ... we're not down there on the court... but, we've all played ball enough to know if ONE OF OUR OWN TEAM MEMBERS IS UNDERNEATH.

Just pointing out some observations I made yesterday ...

Yeah I've noticed that too. It seems like they are not 100% comfortable with those guys yet, Almost like they are unsure of where they are gonna cut to, and by the time they are sure the guy is open he's almost not anymore(does that make any sense?)... so they pass up on the dish. Our spacing has been a little off at times but I think once they get used to playing with each other, and learn each others tendancies we'll start to click.

It's tempting to say that because of all the similarities, Cat will be our replacement for Bobby, rather than playing along with him. But only time will tell.

Right Now They're Acceptable Problems (huh)

What I mean is "they haven't hurt us yet". How's that for rationalizing ???

Grant pointed out a few times yesterday, multiple players cutting to the bucket at the same time.

So, .... time together will improve their spacing on the court and drivers to the hoop can be looking for teammates underneath if the driver draws the defender towards him. That's a situation we haven't had in a while. Like watching Corliss play with his back to the basket and backing his defender down to get a closer shot at the rim. Man, that was sweet to watch ... that's good post-up basketball. Even Skinner did it !!!

I think Cat was given the green light from the begining with Adleman.

I find that sometimes he does try and force the game so much he creates unforced turnovers.

It will be interesting to see if the Kings are just renting Cat or if he will want to stay with Sac.

If both Bobby and Cat were playing I do not think you would see the big guys cross half court

I hope we keep Mobley but how will we resign Mobley and Peja and still keep those guys we just got on top of trying to keep Songalia if he performs. Sign and Trade could be the only options we have.
