Thank you, Reggie Theus. Your coaching was effective, your substitutions made sense and the bottom line was a well-played game.

I have been uber-critical of you recently so it's only fair to give you the props for tonight's win. You got the guys to get back on the same page and the result took my breath away.

Thanks, Coach!!!

Nope, Capt. Factorial. No poll tonight. :)

I honestly think the game tonight may have saved Theus' job for the rest of the season. He gets major credit for doing what he really needed to do. He played the kids quality minutes, he balanced the kids and the vets, and he kept with the lineups that worked while managing to get them some rest. He was a COACH tonight.

Good for Reggie... would be nice if he could garner the same amount of "we're playing the Lakers" motivation for every game. :)

Well deserved congrats Reg!!

Please ignore the couple Kings fans screaming hysterically that you somehow don't know what a TWO FOR ONE is and/or you don't know when to employ it. Having watched you play that clock expertly for such opportunities in an NBA Kings, Hawks, Magic and Nets uni - obviously YOU know how to manage it as a top flight professional floor general and now how TO COACH a fricking two for one. Bottom line is, all NBA players know it or should. How to employ two for one if the play/shot is there w/in the clock. If not, why the hell jack it up and get nothing except maybe a breakaway going the other way - STUPID - as you might say. GO KINGS!! & GO REGGIE!!

Just for the record? The two-for-one discussion is in the games thread. I was kinda hoping to keep this one as a tribute to Reggie for a job well done.

We looked like we knew what we wanted to do for the first time this season. Props to Reggie. Although, Mikki was in for far too long in the fourth. Only complaint of the game from me.

I have also been critical of Reggie.. but tonight Reg you coached perfectly and I saw one of the best games from the Kings I have ever seen! keep it up! Props to Reggie!

Good job, Theus!

* Logical and timely substitutions (although Moore played a tad more than I'd like - I'd rather see some Hawes/Thompson or Miller/Thompson action out there).

* BJax played his energizer bunny role well tonight. I cringed whenever he shot fadeaway threes, but he didn't force things as much tonight.

* More patience with players - especially in this critical game. No yanking rookies after 1 turnover. Mostly provided consistent minutes throughout the game.

No idea why it took him so long to get to this point.

3 ways that phil jackson throws a game, thats pretty much only half of the reasons the kings won tonight. Reggie is like 1/15 of the equation. Or he might have found his "innerr peace" as a nbacoach tonight, and prove me wrong. Due will come in great numbers, but not tonight, not for theus.

thanks reggie for bringing me this joy tonight.
thanks kings for winning this game against the lakers.
atleast for a day, we owned the team which could be a champ by the end of this season.
..........one request though, can you do that again on friday?

Great job by Theus, but how much rope do you think he bought himself tonight?

I might be one of the few that actually wants him to stick around for a bit.

It is but one game, but, tiny steps, tiny steps. You have to start somewhere. Reggie finally did what I've been hoping for all year. He found a rotation and he stuck with it. All too often this year he's made knee jerk substitions. Hoping to find the right combination. Thats called relying on luck.
Aside from me yelling at my tv for him to please get Moore out of the game in the fourth quarter, it was a very well coached game.

Please Reggie, more of the same, and learn to trust your players. That includes the young one's.

At least until January when Martin (hopefully) gets back. It's amazing how focused this team was in this game (few turnovers, for example) and how completely unfocused they have been in other games. I sure hope they have the discipline to be as prepared for future games as for this one.

From what I can tell, it's not just that he found a rotation - a good thing - but he also let his players know ahead of time what that rotation was and how they would be used. If a player gets jerked around like a puppet, it's hard to play the game. Everybody seemed to know their roles in this game, and I think that really helps the focus, especially of the bench.

I really don't get what you're saying Fakeinjury... Props to Reggie. I really liked how everyone moved around actively, just the energy that they played with was really enjoyable to watch
