Corliss Williamson coming back

I was never a fan of Big Nasty as a player. I'm not sure why either...it must have been his terrible second tour through Sacramento.

I always liked Corliss. He knows about playing and winning at all levels, having won championships in high school, college and the NBA. Add in the fact he's been coaching since he retired from the NBA and I think he brings a lot to the table.

Co-signed.

I may be wrong but I believe he is one of like 6 guys in that club. Don't ask me to name them all but Magic Johnson comes to mind. Great company... and yes I do appreciate that he is better qualified to coach than Bobby was/is I was just alluding to a coaching chair for a retired fan favorite. Glad to see Big Nasty coming back.

Can confirm through league sources that Corliss Williamson will be named Kings assistant coach tomorrow.

He might indeed have some wisdom on how to be an undersized big man in the NBA. It might actually be the "4th step" that PDA was able to envision when he signed Landry!
/Sarcasm off

I like Williamson a lot back in the days. Welcome back! :)

Well, my mom will be elated, and he's the closest thing to a big man coach this staff has, which seemed kind of odd to me given the Cousins emphasis.

We might as well give Webber a jersey, get Peja out of retirement, and get J-Will back to lace them up at this point. We just seem to be interested either in Warriors players or anyone from Denver, plus guys that used to play for us. Not quite the offseason I had hoped for when Vivek took over.

I was think we need a 3rd backup PG. Paging Mike Bibby....

It's a top trending Item on Yahoo, and ESPN got the article wrong by saying Corliss Williamson is leaving the Sacramento Kings, which is the college team he coaches.

I like this move.

In college Corliss was bigger and stronger than just about anyone, so he could dominate inside. In the NBA that wasn't the case, so he had to reinvent himself and learn to play away from the basket. Players like that, who have had to think about the game and learn to play to their strengths just to make it in the NBA, tend to make the best coaches.
