I don't care if you're playing the Washington Generals. Your most consistent player should never be Zaza Pachulia or Flip Murray. Atlanta played no defense, though I blame this as much on Woodson as I do the players. Not sure how much 1 on 1 he needed to run to realize they cannot guard them 1 on 1. Anyway, their players showed no heart, hustle or effort. Smith himself proclaimed he could beat LeBron in a dunk contest. You don't say that and then shoot jumpers the whole game.

You need to elaborate on your definition of "nowhere to be found." Smith was the Hawks leading scorer and rebounder in both rounds of the playoffs, despite not leading in either category during the regular season. In fact, relative to his regular season numbers, Smith is the only player besides Pachulia who actually stepped his game up for the playoffs. If you want to get into whether or not you think Smith should have done more, that is a different discussion, in my opinion, but you can't say that he didn't show up.

You are correct, I should have elaborated. Smith turned into a jump shooter. So did all of the Hawks with the exception of Flip and Pachulia. Ergo, non effective (look up the shooting %s of everybody) I can't really put all the blame on them, as the Cavs are a premiere defensive team, but somehow the Hawks just decided to stop fighting - when everybody decided to become a jumpshooter. There is not one time when I felt that Smith or Johnson were making an impact in that series - not one. For leaders and such talented players, Smith and Johnsons should have done much more. Smith had a good last game, but don't be fooled. He was an afterthought in that series.

Josh Smith is not a "leader" on the Hawks; Joe Johnson is.

"Most talented" doesn't necessarily mean "leader." Hell, "most talented" doesn't even necessarily mean "best." The most talented player on the Kings, for example, is probably Hawes; the best is probably Martin, and the leader is probably (or should be) Garcia.

But yeah, Smith took entirely too many jumpshots.

Call me crazy, but I think the Nuggets will beat the Lakers. They have a strong and big front line and they have the offensive arsenal to match the Lakers.
