You have to look for the video on the lower right side of the screen for CBS under Local Video. Not much footage in this one.
In the News 10 footage, you can see about 30 seconds in that the SacBee representative (in a red sweater in the center of the video) stands up during the Pledge of Allegience and faces away from the US flag. I was sitting two rows behind him and thought this odd. He looked the other way and did not recite the pledge. Strange duck, that one.

The download speed is lousy. Leave a note when it is on Youtube, please. I'm proud of you folks. I feel guilty for not being there but have my reasons. I presume they've heard it all before but that was a good turn out. Please, let's not give up. Nobody has left and I'm not dead so I'll nag and push and write until it makes no sense.

As much fun as the rally/council meeting was, it also made me realize that things could be much worse. While it is terrible that we may lose the Kings, listening to the homeless men get up and speak really put things in perspective for me. While I am heartbroken at the possiblity of losing my beloved team, there are people out there with real problems. To see what is happening in Japan and to hear these men speak tonight about the need for more shelters has really made me think. Doesn't change my feelings about the Kings possibly leaving nor will it deter me from continuing to fight for them to stay, just reminds me of some of the more important things happening out there.
Uh, the video is about 4 minutes too long for youtube apparently. With the whole thing being available from the city council streaming site (with better camera angles), I am not going to bother trying to trim it and repost it.

I'm sorry, but I was disappointed at the turnout last night. "Dozens" of people turned out, according to KXTV.
In order to have truly made an impact, it would have taken hundreds, at least.
It looks to me as though few cared. I turned on the 11 p.m. KCRA broadcast, expecting to see something. They probably did show something, and I simply missed it. But it wasn't very much.
Between the horrible situation in Japan and the torrential rain, the rally got lost. Just bad timing?
The article in the Bee sure lays out a strong business case for leaving. Not a pretty revenues/expenses picture at all.
Again, I'm really sorry, but right now, it just looks like business to me.

Great talks by everyone who spoke. I heard a lot of great points that have yet to made clear to council. Really great to see the passion amidst the terrible odds we face as Kings fans.

I counted 33 Kings fans in the picture and there were others not seen because they were taking the pictures for us. Also, a few more had to leave before pictures were taken.
I heard on the news that Mayor Kevin Johnson will give copies of us speaking before the city council to the Maloofs.
You can continue to be negative but I thought last night was a great turnout and a success.

Excuse me, but where the hell are you located??? Are you within 50 miles of the City Hall? Fans are trying to save the Kings and yet you are very NEGATIVE.
The only reason why I didn't attend is I have family in Japan and wondering if they are still alive after the Earthquake and the Tsunami.

You've never been even remotely helpful nor had anything to contribute but negative comments. I guess you have never been the least been interested in having a sports/entertainment venue in the Sacramento region, or in keeping the Kings in Sacramento.
Did you attend the rally? I took time off from work and drove an hour and a half through the rain to be there. Its a ton easier to be a "skeptic" taking pot shots at every idea and other people's efforts, than to actually work for a solution or come up with any ideas. If you are not part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

I was born in Tokyo....so we are calling to see if any relatives were affected. Thank You for your prayers.
Please keep your thoughts and prayers as they have estimated 10,000 have either been unaccounted for or have died.
5:30 on a Tuesday isn't exactly set to draw strong turnout. We'd all like it if hundreds could turn out to every event but it can't always happen. Some events will draw "only dozens" and some will draw hundreds or sell out an Arena that is normally half capacity. The important thing is having a constant presence and kudos to Mike and others for doing their part to keep one in effect at every city council meeting and every other public opportunity. It will only help draw larger crowds in the future.
