I decided to ask your guys opinion on this because its looking like an early rund exit for the Hornets in this year playoff or they might not even make it this year... they're 2-8 for their last 10, lost their last 3 and have several teams on good streaks behind them...they tried some moves to make CP3 happy like trading for Okafor, J. Jack and lots of signings that didnt make them a better team since CP3 was drafted... I think he might want to leave if this season proves to be a failure.. rumors have him going to the Knicks (specially if they lure Melo).. but dont u guys think we could at least give it a try? Just like the C's made with KG...offered the Wolves picks/young players...

Do u guys think this years 1st round pick (which should be a top5), Carl Landry and either Omri Casspi or Donte Greene would be enough for the Hornets to let go CP3?

If that rumored Melo trade is true, then it's going to take much more than that to pry CP3 away from the Hornets

I like CP3. I do. But he needs the ball to run the offense, and he does it well. Given how the Nuggets have fleeced the Nets, it would take either Evans OR Cousins, AND the draft pick, PLUS Casspi to get them to think about moving Paul. Add to that the rumors of bad knees, and that would make me hesitant.

Where do I sign?!

Seriously, if Hornets were to trade Paul and we were interested, they would be asking for one of Evans or Cousins as a STARTING point!

I would love to get a CP3 and even with the numbers he is averaging this year (16ppg, 4rpg, 10apg, 2.5spg) he would be a great get for us. Chances of us getting him are very very slim

who knows if cp3 would even want to stay in sac.. he'd have to be locked up long term if we are dumping assets like that

I think the bigger concern to me is that he will leave. Its not that I wouldn't trade Evans for Paul, but Evans is stuck with us for at least 3 more years while Paul can bolt much sooner.

The team is better. If you hadn't noticed, Paul's production has dropped, partly because of his injuries that have hampered his athleticism, and partly because of lesser minutes. The hornets are as deep of a team as Paul has ever had, and defensively they are better. The problem is that they haven't been able to close out some of these recent games because they don't have a go-to scorer outside West, since Paul has become almost exlucively a passer. They have guys Marco, Thornton, Green, etc that can go off for 20+ any given night, but they are all too inconsistent to bring that on a consistent basis. Emeka has been pretty solid for them, but he's been injured and that's really hurt thier interior play recently, and that's one big reason why the hornets have struggled, as they are 2-7 since he's been hurt.

You are dreaming.
