Thing with Pirates is that after finally having seen the second one a month ago or whatever, their stabs at character development/introducing adult themes could threaten the fun factor in #3 -- few of their characters emerged from that one as likable as they went in. Of course its in the grand triology tradition for #2 to be "darker", so guess we'll see.

Hey, I did say FUN, not Oscar winners. I usually go to the movies for an escape. I think most of these would qualify.

I will undoubtedly get dragged to Spiderman 3, Fantastic Four 2 and Harry Potter and the _______. But Pirates and Ocean's 13 are the only two from that list that I'm really looking forward to.

Everyone I know teases me for liking the Ocean's movies, but there's just something about them I dig. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Tomorrow is my birthday, so I am taking the day off (first time I have taken it off from work, I think) and am catching this on matinee with some family and friends. Already have the tickets!

Unfortunately it will not be all fun and games as we have LOTS of work to do for the new house over the weekend, and since we will be in Chico for a wedding for a good chunck of it, that means doing some of the cleanup work tomorrow as well.

No biggie, it will probably be more fun than work anyways.

I'm almost certain that one of these will win the Oscar for best visual effects. The first Spidey and Pirates sequels did and I know they went a little nuts on Spidey 3. Transformers and Harry Potter should also probably make the long list before they cut it to 3 for the official nomination.

Okay, the countdown continues... Lots of great clips, etc. showing up. I truly believe P3 is going to break the box-office records Spidey set! I've already ordered my Cap'n Jack action figure. He's going to stand on my mantle next to my Brad Miller bobblehead.
