Can we get Joe Smith?

With the 3 way trade talks-

"According to two league sources, the Warriors have revived discussions with three teams on a multiple-player swap, with the principal parts involving Mike Dunleavy Jr. going to the Clippers, Corey Maggette to Denver and Joe Smith to Atlanta, with the Warriors getting Harrington."

Would you think we have a chance at Joe Smith for Bonzi? I still think Harrington ends up in Indy and think Bonzi and Maggette are similar with the advantage going to Maggette of course due to his age and is more athletic.

Hmmm....

A couple of observations:

1) Got to feel sorry for Joe Smith...to get traded from Milwaukee to Denver to a bottomless pit in Atlanta all in one offseason. Admittedly, Denver has too many bigs to begin with, but Smith deserves better and could definitely be used in a playoff-contending team.

2) I know the Nugs have been hot over Corey Maggette for the past couple of offseasons, but he simply doesn't solve their problems of shooting the basketball. Yes, more athleticism once again for the Nugs, but with Anthony, Nene, Martin (assuming he's still here) and Camby, it's not absolutely necessary.

3) The Clips are getting ripped in the deal. Maggette at this point is WAY better than Dunleavy. Dunleavy underachieved and put up horrible shooting percentages for the Warriors this season. If the Clips just want to pair up their father and son together, that's simply not the way to do it.

4) The Warriors for Harrington? Ok...

i seriously don't think we want to go over the luxury tax threshold unless it is for a a big time franchise changing player. Joe Smith is not the guy.

The main reason Joe Smith could have been a good option, or may still be i dont know, was to swap him for KT and getting 8 mil off the books for next year. Just adding him to the roster wouldnt do much for us. I still think our best option for KT however is a midseason trade when a team might be desperate.

Ya I agree unless KT or Shareef are going out in a trade we would have no use for Joe Smith being as he is a PF and plays the same position as KT and Reef.

I think getting Joe Smith without trading one of KT or SAR is redundant and just doesn't fit.

Don't think it's a possibility for us.
