im not fans of either one of these players. but they have their moments. which one of these two would have to step up more?

I voted Cisco...But really, when you lose a guy like Artest the whole team is gonna need to step it up.

i voted cisco. he's gonna have to put up some nice numbers and stay in control. no gambling on defense. just keep you man in front of you.

someone let me know what they think about this......

move kenny to the s/f spot. bring corliss off the bench as the starting p/f

mike
kevin
kenny
corliss
miller
corliss is our best post player and miller is our best passer

piksi's right. lets be real. if bibby and martin play out of their minds we will cruise into the playoffs. but miller has to have a couple of career rebounding nights.

he is not going to grab 19 rebounds in a game

this team has seriously always revolved around Bibby, when he plays well we win. We are having a bad year as a team and to no suprise bibby is having one of his worst years. I dont really blame that on him though because this team is a mess starting with our head coach. Bibby will need to pick up the slack for rons absence and become the sole leader of this team, however everyone on this team is going to need to step up and do their part. Hopefully someone steps up in rons absence and does what martin did last year when filling in for bonzi.

Cause we all know how that went last season before Ron showed up....

...We're doomed!

You might have trouble with that one since Corliss is a SF and Kenny is a PF. Since Brad is our best passer can we play him at PG? :D

As for who steps up, look at the games that we have won without Ron who stepped up? Bibby and Martin. The last Indiana game stands out to me where the offense was flowing and Bibby and Martin where cutting and slashing to the basket uncontested. It would be nice if Brad stepped up but it will probably be Mike and Kevin.

That's for sure and you an take that to the bank.

Mike and KMart are going to have to play like All Stars, also Salmons will have to do a good job filling in for Artest at SF, Cisco will get more minutes as well and has to mature and see the court better and make better decisions on the fly.

Well it will be interesting, we didn't want to tank and we were looking good the last few games so I'm all for letting the young guys shine. Hopefully we will see Cisco and Salmons play like KMart last year when Bonzi went down for most of the year.

I wouldn't think of Ron as being purely a SF or swingman, I'd look at the team needs he fulfills. We had a similar problem when we replaced our big, Bonzi, with a swingman, and we shouldn't again confuse position with functionality.

Ron does a lot of middle to long range shooting, which can be made up for by Bibby, Kevin, or almost anyone but KT or Justin, so that's not a problem. What he contributes that IS in short supply, is defence, rebounding and inside presence. Salmons and Cisco are both decent defenders, and can help make up the loss somewhat, but we lose using either one, they just aren't at the same level. For our defence to be even close to the level it was at, we need to deal with the problems at PF/C (which would also address the deficiencies in our rebounding and inside game). The lane is usually wide open, and Piksi's suggestion that we clog it up with trees probably wouldn't sit well with the NBA.

Since GP failed to do anything by the trade deadline, this means either pulling a miraculous FA rabbit out of a hat, which seems extremely improbable, or putting Justin in a lot more. Sure, he will make dumb rookie mistakes, but that's going to happen any time we start playing him, and it may as well be now. It's not as if we have a championship on the line, this is the garbage time of our season. And he'll get better.

I'm hoping Cisco's minutes go up to at least 30 a game. This could be great for him. I think he has more upside than Salmons. He just needs to get better at seeing the court and letting the game come to him. I really like to see Cisco and Martin in the game at the same time because it makes us more athletic.

Right now I'd take Salmons over Garcia, but they will both be seeing more game time now so lets see who can rise to the occasion
