I know it shouldn't matter, but I read the power ranking that Mark Stein put out for the playoff teams. Sacramento was ranked 14th, last of all Western Conference teams. Not shockingly Stein predicts the Spurs to win it all. Granted the Kings are still banged up, but I still think they deserve more credit. When we get our pieces back, this can be a scary team that can challenge anyone. I don't mind playing the role of underdog, but these so called experts should give the Kings some credit.

Well if you read that he was basing it on Bobby, Peja and Brad all not being back. Not that unreasonable if that were really true. Well, a little unreasonable -- we could probably still take the lower East teams in that case. But his point was a simple one -- if Bobby, Peja and Brad are gone, along with Vlade, Doug and Webb, then all of our elite playoff experience and swagger would be gone too (our "Kingsness") and we'd just be Bibby and a bunch of random players.

It is true. What team could be considered a real contender with there main guys not suiting up? Just the fact that they are in the position they are is remarkable.

I use to get depress reading all these power ranking from so-called sports analysis as i see the kings get drop below subpar eastern teams; but it doesnt matter anymore......wat matters is that the kings are #1 in my power rankings!

Of course with no Brad, Pedja and Bobby it's going to be tough to beat all West teams and most East teams. But I think if those 3 guys are in and especially healthy, they're pretty dangerous and can suprise some opponents.

IMO, I think some underestimate the Kings. But it's cool. Prefer it that way and being the underdogs. :)

Stein, just like most NBA anaylsis don't follow the Kings...so what do they know?

Except when that reasoning is applied to the whole league you only have a few teams left that have playoff experience and toughness. The Spurs? ok. Pistons? Yeah. Suns? no. Heat? no. Sonics? no. Mavs? Their PG and leader is gone! Rockets? nay. Pacers? Injured and supsended. Rest of the east? Hah!

Not that I expect much out of Stein, but his analysis of the Kings in that article is extremely weak.

Even if the kings are without peja, brad and bobby....it suggest that teams like Boston and Philly are higher ranked ...I still find that insulting and somewhat rediculous..those teams actually suck really bad and would not even make the playoffs had they been palying in the west..
