Bron's peeps confiscate dunk tape

Sorry Brick but this reeks of trying to protect LeBron's image:

Ryan Miller, who videotaped the dunk and had his tape confiscated, detailed the events to CBSSports.com.

"[Nike Basketball senior director Lynn Merritt] just said, 'We have to take your tape,' " Miller said. "They took it from other guys, too."

Miller, who is a freelancer, was at the camp in part for ESPNU. He also was getting material for Syracuse.com. Miller, who attended Syracuse, had been part of ESPNU's Campus Connection program, which uses college students to report on various sports events at their campuses. The tape that was confiscated belonged to Miller, not ESPN, and he is not an ESPN employee.

Miller said he had been filming all day and had his tapes confiscated only after Crawford's dunk over James.

"LeBron called Lynn over and told him something," Miller told CBSSports.com. "That's how I knew his name was Lynn. LeBron said, 'Hey, Lynn. Come here.' "

Minutes later, Miller said Merritt demanded his tape.

Various reports have said that Miller had been filming for 15 minutes prior to LeBron being dunked on.

Kenny Smith twittered bout it. Said he doesn't see why getting dunked on should be a problem. Suggested a commercial showing clips of LeBron getting blocked, dunked on, turning it over etc. Then smth bout "nobody is perfect" then showing him getting the MVP trophy or something like that.

These things will happen. College kid dunking on a superstar in a pick up game - the only story there is that LBJ/Nike confiscated tape. As opposed to LBJ knocking the kid out as KG or MJ would do.

that...would actually make for a very good commercial. perhaps that's why nike took the footage away. :p

What is the big deal about getting dunked on anyways???

It happens to everyone just like even the best player will get blocked from time to time.

Most of the time you are just covering for your teammate who just got shook. Other times you just happen to be in the lane. But it usually means you are actually trying to go for blocks and defend in the paint.

If you just stay out in the perimeter all the time and float, you will never get dunked on. But thats not how Lebron plays. Any good shot blocker will tell you that in order to be a good defender, you will have to live with getting dunked on.

Classic case of the media trying to make it into a big story to please the lebron haters.

Listening to sports talk radio on my lunch break the other day, and somebody suggested that it'd be an even better commercial for the camp itself: "Sign up now! You could get good enough to dunk on LeBron!"

I was actually EXTREMELY disappointed to hear this. Lebron WAS one of my favorite players. I have a Lebron James Cavs jersey that i now will no longer wear. For someone to censor themself getting their own arse busted is PATHETIC.

yeah i just saw it on yahoo.... what a weak *** dunk. if lebron had sprained his ankle the media wouldve complained that he was trying too hard and shouldnt have been playing defense.

it was a weak dunk.... not even worth mentioning. it didnt make lebron look bad, he wasnt posterized. the kid just dunk the damn ball... oddly enough it was jamal crawfords brother...
