Boogie & Rudy's Excellent Adventure

After years of abuse from DMC, Jonas decided the best course of action was to cheap shot him.

Krzyzewski/Thibodeau's halftime adjustments have been outstanding. Makes you wonder how shoddy their pre-game scouting is?

I think it's more of a "teaching curve" thing. And by that I mean not being so overly constricting on players that you let them try to find the flow (ends up being hero ball)... but then at half the coaches sit them down and say "this is how we're going to win it". And they listen because the first half did not result in a blowout. It's almost like the coaching staff as so much confidence in the team that they're willing to spend a bit of the lead letting the players learn for themselves what works and what doesn't. Obviously nearly every time it's what the coaches say that works... but the point is the players now have the experiential data.

This comment was like an hour after the game and i didn't remember who had said it. Why does it even matter? lol
:: shrugs ::

I just didn't realize it was that hard to remember Mark Kestecher's name; he's only called every game the US have played in the entire tournament.

Although in the case of Grant and Jerry, they'd probably blame Cuz without leaving room for doubt.

Since the ownership change, they bite their tongues a lot lot more when it comes to Cuz (IMO) tending to give the old "I have no idea what happened there!" rather than "oh my demarcus ohhhhh boyyyy cousins was in there Jerry ohhhh my goodness" and analysing slow motion replays of Cuz standing up.

I think it has a lot more to go with the other team just running out of gas after a full half of non-stop up and down basketball with constant pressure and switches defensively.

It's an obvious pattern thus far - USA are simply able to play that style throughout the course of a game, while the other teams usually are only able to keep up for 1 half, or best case scenario 3 quarters.

Cousins not even in the picture
LL
Pretty sure Rudy was the instigator in this one.

Can see him at the back cussing that player out, and he's the guy who made him leave the game cause of the elbow.

To be fair, so is DeMarcus. Let's not all act coy because he's our guy.
If you watched the game, you would know that Lith were clearly instigators from the start in that style of play. Started early and continued throughout....if any of our guys also responded with physical play, do you really blame them?

And during the regular season when we get to play Toronto, we will get reminded why its awesome to have a guy like Reggie Evans who I'm sure took notes and will take no crap from Jonas V.
We won't even have to wait that long Reggie gonna get him in the pre-season opener

Does anyone recall Cuz balling up his fists before? Perhaps my memory is failing me. (Did I say "perhaps?) I think Cuz knew exactly what he was doing given the state of the game and thinking ahead to future confrontations. Perhaps FIBA basketball is more rough with the use of elbows but he was clearly sending a message. Wonder what Coach K thought of it?

lol yes it is, because i haven't even heard that name once. The only one i have noticed is Fran Frachilla
Well, he actually said it at least once a quarter in every game but, whatever. It's not really that serious. I was just poking fun at what appears to be Kings Fans' tendency to refer to any announcers beside Napear and Reynolds as "that guy."

Lol yes i fully understand. i haven't payed much attention to who's doing the FIBA games. Mainly because i watch these games on DVR and skip through everything but the actual play

took a while, but we finally got the first old narrative whining article about the incident yesterday:

I already lit the dude up in the comments, feel free to do the same.

Yeah, you done lit him up pretty good. It should be noted that the author is Greg Wissinger, one of the main front-pagers at STR, so this isn't a national guy peeking his head in. This is one of the more visible local writers rehashing this narrative. Sad, really.

I fear my patience with these idiots is hitting an all time nadir.

Well he's local in the sense that he's in the US (He lives in Colorado)... So he's more local than me at the moment but less local than 50% of the national writers.

took a while, but we finally got the first old narrative whining article about the incident yesterday, and its from one of our own. Well supposedly our own (one of the STR lap puppies):

Brick, your comment on that article was glorious. Just fantastic.

This part here literally made me burst out laughing in front of my computer screen at the office like a complete idiot---> "but this poor delicate author is shocked, shocked I tell you! that DeMarcus Cousins showed a flash of anger when he got elbowed in the throat."

i tried to insert this gif as a reply to your comment, but of course i was not allowed
