aqh, Cisco, bless him. He did have a penchant for odd injuries (the medicine ball pop and the 'here, let me get that stuck ball for you' ankle twist foremost amongst them) The 'I tripped over my own suitcase while unpacking. broke my hand and will now be out 4 to 6 weeks for my brand new team' belongs to Greg Ostertag though. Derick Williams also had an ankle sprain from tripping over a cable during pre-game. We can pick 'em!

No. You can't just say "their ceiling is xxxx whatever". Just because you said it, doesn't make it true. We don't know what this team's ceiling is. It's easier to guess the ceiling of a particular player, less factors involved. But there have been so many changes to this team that for all we know, we could blow up and win 55 games.

Now, I know you say "IMO", but right before that you said "Let's face it..." you can't have it both ways. It's either your opinion (as distinct from a fact), or it is a fact we need to face.

There are no "facts" about what this team can do this year. That's what makes it so exciting. And that's a good thing. Let people have their excitement.

You're not going to go into the lockerroom and say "Hey everbody: LISTEN. Hey Rondo, LISTEN UP. There's no way you can do any better than 7th or 8th seed, so don't get your hopes up. Trust me, it's better for your emotional health that way. Now go out there and KICK SOME ASS!"

You'd be a horrible coach if you did.

You were just a tad convoluted, but I understand where your coming from. And I agree. But there is a difference between what a fan thinks, and what a player thinks. As a player, and I speak from experience, I always thought my team was going to win every game. Even when we were down ten to nothing in the ninth inning, I thought we could still pull it out. And frankly, I don't want anyone on my team that doesn't think that way. But I'm in the shark tank doing battle, while a fan is on the outside looking in, and with a different prospective. When your in the battle, you can only see the adversary in front of you. But a fan can see the whole field, and see that your outnumbered. So I understand both prospective's. Personally I like being in the battle.

To play devils advocate, of course they are going to say that. The good thing is that we are gonna have a fair shot at making this work. We are at the point where both sides want it to work. I have no doubt if we are doing well and winning it will all be smoothe, but a bad start could send thing south rapidly. The good thing is that with the moves made Vlade is betting on the former.
 
Well, thus far the FO has been pretty forthcoming re: the rift. Vlade himself said something to the effect of "it's not good."

So I'm gonna take this news without a grain of salt, thank you very much! :p

Both these guys want to win. Karl is a great coach. Boogie is arguably the best big in the game. Vlade is playing peacekeeper.... They'll figure it out.

...One less distraction going into training camp.

While I'll never concede that "all is well", I'm content to know things are better than we feared. Just color me ubercautious. ;)

Actually, if you've heard his latest interview with Grant, his stance is now almost the opposite of that previous feeling. Sounds much much more positive these days.

If Vlade finds out which PACEhole in the front office leaked to Howard Beck, a head should roll. Unfortunately, if anybody is leaking to Beck, it is probably Karl, and maybe he doesn't mind if he gets fired.

That, or Beck (whoever he is) is running with a weak source or a lie.

This may have been another "false leak" to see where the leak is. Vlade openly mentioned in an interview a while back he would be doing such.

My secret hope is that it was Grant, and that Grant will be canned because of it. Or at least put off the air. Folks it is possible to have quality talk sports radio without having leader of said talk sports radio be a self serving rumor spreading tool. This is something we could have.

I could live happily ever after without the Grant Napear show. His antagonism toward Kings players from CWebb to JWill to BJax to Ron Artest to DMC.... it is just some bull pace little dick syndrome he has - and if it finally catches up with him, that would be great.
