He is finally going to start for the rest of the season for the Memphis since Damon Stoudamire will miss rest of the season ...

I am just wondering on what u all think his stats willl be since he is finally going to be a starter?

Just like they were with us when Bibby got hurt a few years back -- right around 18 points per game.

B-Jax is still a better player than Bonzi. The irony is that the trade was made, in part, because Jackson was so fragile. Now, of course, Bonzi is hurt, and Jackson will be lighting up the league.

B-Jax just returned from injury, but he should be real good.

Why do you say finally, Bodrioga?

Why is it overdue? Just curious.

I personally didn't think it mattered. Just that for them, possibly because Stoudamire's paid more (starting).

Local 2nd-year PG Antonio Burks is starting tonight, who has been playing pretty well off the bench after a tough rookie year. He's starting likely because of B-Jax just coming back from injury last night, and let him get back going well again. As said in the west conf. thread, what I think they might do soon is alternate between Burks/B-Jax to see who gets the job. Who knows if they'll do a deal at the deadline.

Burks played the 1st half, and some of the third qtr, then B-Jax played the rest. So maybe they do that, I dunno. Bobby made a GREAT hustle play in the closing seconds by getting his own drive-miss and throwing it back to the fun Dahntay Jones who hit the clinching floater (of sorts) to put the Grizz up by 4 with 5 sec left. Grizz won over the Sonics 100-96, and are now 19-10~

Based on what? Bonzi being hurt doesn't take away from the objective fact that Bobby is fragile and 32 going on 33. Bobby was great when he was here but that ship sailed.

Wake me up the next time Bobby has 22 points and 18 rebounds in a game and then will talk. That's about the only thing Petrie's done right in the last two years.

Yeah, like held the ball below his wrist with his arm against his side. Just how it looked.
Are you sure you don't mean "cradled?"

"Cuddle" is something that you do with on the couch with your significant other while watching a sappy movie (among other things, of course).

Ha, you're right. I wasn't really thinking about the definition of cuddle. I guess it was just how it looked to me and couldn't think of the right word. ;)

the real question is can bobby stay healthy the rest of the season...if he can it could be incredibly lucrative for him considering hes in a contract year...

past history doesnt exactly bode well for him...but i really hope he pulls it off....ive always liked him...and was really wanting him to be a pacer the last couple years...

Hey GM, per 48 minutes this year:

Wells: 21.2 points, 10.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists
B-Jax: 22.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5.2 assists

Well, looks like they are considering making a move:

Memphis Commercial Appeal - Grizzlies president Jerry West spoke with a somber tone.

He's usually a deal maker by choice. But West acknowledged Saturday that Damon Stoudamire's season-ending knee injury has forced his hand.

The Griz will immediately pursue a replacement for Stoudamire through trade or free agency.

Stoudamire's season ended Friday when he suffered a ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee at Portland.

"We're going to be searching around," West said via telephone. "It would have to be a more veteran guy, and someone who fits in with what we're doing here.

"We don't want to disrupt the chemistry. It'll be a busy couple of days here, that's for sure."

Names that have been tossed around in the organization include New Jersey's Jeff McInnis and Washington's Chucky Atkins. Both players are said to be available because of their expressed desire to play elsewhere.

The Griz also may consider free agent Erick Strickland or make an offer for former Griz Brevin Knight, who has performed well as a starter for the Charlotte Bobcats .

Possibly Atkins, if only to replace Damon's three point shooting. Maybe McInnis, don't know about Strickland, but could def. see them going after Knight. Also a bunch of PGs on the FA market.

Jackson FG% is also at 38% this year compared to Bonzi at 48%.

I just think given the makeup of the current Kings roster Bonzi is the "right" guy to start at SG. Love to have Bjax coming off the bench!

rhuber, did you see the part where B-Jax is averaging more points and more assists than Bonzi per 48?

GM, I actually agree with you about Bonzi being the better fit right now. I was against the trade at the time because I loved Jackson, but Bonzi has been a pleasant surprise. I do, however, think Bobby is still an explosive player (as the numbers demonstrate), and, like you, would love to see him still coming off the bench.
