Blackout questions

Ok its TDOS so this is a good time to ask. I went to the Atlanta game and a couple beside me said that on Direct TV 698 (comcast sports net) was no longer blackedout that they didn't have to purchase league pass.

Anybody with confirmation of this before I buy it again this year.

I haven't heard any new rules lately. I know that last season if I tried to watch a station not in my area (in Merced I get both 698 (Comcast sports California) and 696 (Comcast Bay Area), I was blacked out. However, I noticed there were a couple channels where the blackout stopped for the replay for some reason. I watched a couple Clipper games on replay that way.

Assume the worst as to Blackouts locally. Home Kings games would normally be blacked out on NBA League pass but what your local stations show is a different issue. When I lived in Santa Cruz, Kings@Warriors games were blacked out to us but I got all other games on NBA-TV. Summer league games are ONLY on NBATV.

Since Comcast SportsNet started broadcasting the Kings, they've been blacked out outside of Sacramento some times and not others. It has been hit and miss.

If I were you, I'd hold off on buying league pass if you're feeling daring, and if the games aren't available for you then buy it. If any of the games are blacked out, then I'd get the league pass because that means they could all get blacked out at any moment. Several years ago I was watching the replays which were often being shown even though I didn't live in the Kings area. Then in the biggest game to that point against the Spurs the game was blacked out and I didn't see another through the rest of the year. That was not cool. :(
