Bjeli traded to Miami

It’s simple

we are trying to corner the market on 27 year old role players in a desperate attempt to make the 10 spot.
What would you have preferred we do with Bjeli instead then? It’s not like teams were lining up for the privilege of giving up a valuable asset for a 32 year old chubby dude who’s only shooting 29% from three this year and can’t play defense.

I would have preferred a second or two. So for we appear to have sent out 3 seconds.

Two, really. The Lakers pick this year (probably 60) and our second in 2024, when we already have the Blazers pick anyways.

The Clippers trade really sorta only involved those picks as a formality given the protections on them.

I can understand coveting 1st round picks but after a while 2nd round picks can become more trouble than they’re worth

did we send a 2nd with Bjelicia?

Harkless 1.4 PPG,6'7" F-G,
Silva 2.7 PPG, 6'8" F

Cant see either in the future for the Kings

Monte, You got your pocket picked

not a single pick in the deal? WTF

so knowing we will probably play Harkless over our young guys what are your thoughts on it?
I mean, while I would like Woodard and DQJ to see more time, it’s not like this move pushes them any further down the depth chart and it may help the team in the long run by solidifying the defense

and why is that?
Because I think Woodard or DQJ are better than either of these guys
Harkless is an ender, does anyone here think his defense is even worth it for our playoff push?
Silva? really? other than maybe providing deep bench next year for cheap?

Would rather have kept Beli for rest of the year

My definition of getting a bag of Cheesy poofs for Beli

I honestly don’t mind it too much, it wasn’t too long ago a lot of us on this board were suggesting picking him up. I think he’s had some solid wings in front of him in Miami like Iggy and Crowder and his toughness on D is more than welcome around these parts. I am hoping he is more of an impact player for us than he apparently has been for them

He was a huge reason Portland made noise a couple of years ago. Blazers have been trying and failing to replicate his defensive presence ever since.

A few years back, we got some really good seats for a Sac vs. Portland game. I was surprised by how short Dame is--he's like 5'11, how tall Fox looked (6'5 with the hair), and how big Harkless is. On TV, he looks like he's about the same size as Barnes, but in person dude looks significantly bigger.

I know our cap situation wasn't looking great next year, I wonder with these guys we bring in that are expiring, if we're able to re-sign a few of them and use the MLE to keep Holmes if that's what we want. It still leaves us with big decisions on Buddy and Bagley on draft night and if we keep Barnes he could be next year deadline fodder, but I'd love to go into next season with a new coach, new direction and two first rounders. No reason we couldn't trade one of the B's for a first on draft night.

Looks like one of those “goodwill” trades.

Bjeli wanted out, so McNair shipped him to Miami, a great franchise in a destination city.

We got basically nothing in return, but it’s not like we gave up much either. Bjeli wasn’t getting minutes here.

Holmes is worth more than the MLE in my estimation.
Unfortunately we'd have basically had to renounce everyone to even offer him 12mil per which gets us back to where we were entering this season. I would not be terribly disappointed if we traded him today. Because I don't think he is remotely as valuable to the Kings at double his current contract.
