And so was the Evans and Cousins picks and every pick we have had including the trades - we can see the Maloof hands all over it. And this is because the Maloofs have always been a cheerer and defender on whatever move Petrie does.

It's like there is a Petrie Cult and we're members of his cult!......lol

Petrie is infallible! He is genius!

Wrong move....blame it on the coach or owners....right move....credit it to Petrie!.....lol

I just hope we don't follow Petrie when he says we all have to commit suicide.

I am certainly no Petrie apologist or "cult" member. Of course he's fallible, as is everyone.

But the people that act like Petrie is the worst, most stupid GM ever, are not being any more balanced than than what you call Petrie cult members.

I just posted a sports writer's recent column, that thought Petrie is one of the best GMs, still. If you post comments by those two clowns, Chad and Simmons, then at least balance it, by acknowledging that opinions on Petrie vary and not just on the kingsfans.com forum. The truth is most likely in the middle, somewhere, although I'd probably lean to better than average, considering the fiscal restraints he's worked under and having to work for embarrassing owners.

Everyone, including sports writers, is under some handicap in judging what GM's do, because no one knows everything that's gone on in the front offices of all teams, or even one team.

So take your condescension and......put it somewhere. I don't think you've been voted the ultimate authority yet.

there are far worst GMs out there. how would we look like if took thabeet with the 2nd pick or lol wesley johnson with the 4th pick. yeah, the grass isn't always greener on the other side. petrie has his faults but i'm pretty sure he had full control over roster decisions without having his hands tied.. there would be better roster moves made.

Petrie's fantastic in the draft... fantastic. His main drawback has been that he hasn't had a shot at drafting Lebron or Durant. He's gotten one of the better players available at his selection most of the time.

Giants fans went thru the same thing with Sabean. Stick it out with the guy who's great at the draft and lousy at fa... easier to correct the fa/trade thing then it is drafting. Petires a top talent in the world when it comes to the nba draft.

I look at this way. There is no doubt that Petrie has his strengths and weaknesses (just like all GMs). He is overvalued by some and undervalued by some. But if he was ever to leave the Kings organization, he would have his phone ringing off the hook with teams offering him a job.
