Which begs the eternal question...Was he fated to get injured regardless? Did the Kings actually dodge a bullet by trading him when we did, especially seeing the improvement of Buddy Hield? Is it all fate? These are things that keep me awake at night. ;)
 
I blame Dell Demps: people praise him for the moves he made after the injury that saved the Pelicans' season (people conveniently forget that New Orleans didn't just lose 5-out-of-6 in the wake of the injury, but lost all five by double digits): signing Okafor, and trading for Mirotic... But, he could have made both of those moves three weeks earlier and, had he made at least one of them three weeks earlier, they could have avoided the wear on Cousins' body that led to the injury in the first place.
 
Nah. There's only one award that's given out for games played after the end of the regular season, and it ain't this one.
