The thing is, the reports circulated by...Amick was it? That they were going to drop one of James/Francis/Alston/Head are pretty much bunk. And it didn't even mention Brooks, their rookie who they like. Before the preseason I think the prevailing wisdom is that they were going to get rid of Alston one way or the other, but he showed well, and now looks to be the starter. James is sthe backup. Head is young and a 2G, not a PG, although he can play a little there. He is also thier best shooter and is going nowhere. The onyl Houston PG likely on the way out is John Lucas, who is a scrub. If any of the main guys was let go, at this point it would seem most likely to be Francis, who was always going to be a difficult fit for Adelman (dumb, selfish, can't shoot). And if Houston lets him go, after he chose to go home to them, its pretty mcuh because he can't play anymore.

Now its remotely possible there still might be a deal there for one of their PGs, if you would even want such a thing -- their PGs are like our PFs. Lots of mediocre crap. And if such a deal were to happen you would think it would be us finally finding in them a team that would not mind one more veteran PF to help the frontline while we take back a PG (not Alston, who is starting, not James...so who?). Sura is still an ending contract for them for a few days. Could use him + the player we want for one of our PFs. But there you are assuming that event he Rockets want one of our PFs,a dn that Rick, who has seen must of the junk firsthand, would actually be interested in getting any of it back.

I don't know what to say.
This definitely sucks. = (
Hope he heals quickly and doesn't rush back until he's absolutely 100%.
We will miss you, Mike.
What a way to start the season. :(

Houston is about to cut John lucas who's a PG. Think much cheaper version of Earl Boykins. He's definitely an NBA player but not a starter by any stretch. But he's got a solid jumpshot and can handle the rock. Can't expect much more since he's only 5-10.

Rafer is going to start in Houston. James will back him up. Francis will get lucky to crack to the rotation and can't play the point anymore to begin with. I seriously doubt anyone is going to get traded.
