Bibby has torn ligaments in thumb

I have not been following the preseason but i would just give the spot to Douby or Salmons and see what happens, its not like we are playoff cailber team.

like last year, i wouldnt be surprised if bibby plays 1st game of the season.. if this happnes props to me, i dont see him sitting out with an injury on his off hand but we will see, he was supposed to miss time last year to but played threw it

Trust me ...he'll be sitting out. Even though it's not a shooting hand, everytime it gets bumped, slapped, or hit it will just set him back. Hopefully he learned his lesson last year. He played with the other hand hurt and compensated for his shot, then once he was healed his shot was off, because he was still compensating. It messed up his whole season.

I was going to say Wilks signed with Denver, but he was recently waived.

Honestly, Bibby should take his time and let himself heal. I think the biggest criticism last year was that he rushed back from his wrist injury (though it was his shooting hand) which limited his ability to shoot the ball. Sucks too, because he just came off an awesome shooting game against the Clips.

Please not Boykins though, he'd A. Want to much money, B. Take away shots from his teammates, and C. Be an additional shoot-first PG. He's a good player, but not the fill in we would want for this team.

So how deep is next year's draft in point guards?

Derrick Rose, Darren Collison, Ty Lawson, OJ Mayo (combo), DJ Austin, and Jarryd Bayless (combo).

It's a very deep guard draft. Rose will probably go no.1 or 2, he's going to be a stud.

Yea, U'r prob right.
What'a bummer 2 start off the season.

Either Douby starts at the point, or hello Mike Wilks. It definitely sucks. Doesn't help his trade value any.

I say we give Douby his chance and see what he can do. None of the FAs in the market are that much of an improvement over what the Kings have anyway. We also don't know if the FAs are in game shape or not. PG also happens to be the position where knowing how a team runs its offense matters the most.

Man, I finally decided today that I'd do a Bibby/KT for Gooden/Snow/Marshall/Newble deal. Guess not anymore...

Wake me up for the lottery...

Hey, we're going to screw up Douby's game just like we did Travis Mays back in the day, by trying to turn him into a PG, when his natural position in the 2. Oh well, another wasted 1st Rnd pic, I say he's a part of a trade sometime within the next year anyway, so it wont matter either way what we do with him.

Unfortunately, yes:D I'd rather start Artest at PG rather than any of the other choices we have...this sucks:(

Oh, come on. How can Ron play PG when we need him at PF? :p

This is why I always resist predicting what our record will be before the end of the preseason. We're getting ready to play our first "real" game, and we still don't know what the roster's going to be.

Too bad for Bibby. Hope he doesn't come back too quickly.
Too bad for the Kings early season hopes. Don't think we're going to be competitive for a while.
Too bad Ronnie Price isn't here to take advantage of the opportunity. This might have been his big chance to prove he belongs on the floor (or not).

Man, I am usually an optimist around here, but right now I feel like the Kings are snake bitten. It's not just the injuries, but how these injuries happen - very innocently. From what I have heard, Bibby just fell in practice and then braced himself - thought it was no big deal and now this? Compare this freak injury to Miller breaking his leg during lay-up drills at practice a couple of years ago. Or even Webber destroying his knee by doing what?....landing.

Man, this sucks. (where's the crying face icon?)

give an assist to the 6th.....thanks, 6th

I think the first 7 games will be really tough without Bibby or Artest, I will hope for 2-5 but it could be worse. After that though everyone might be surprised how good things go, kind of like when Webber got hurt and we ended up being the top team in the league. That team just had more chemistry without Webber and when Artest comes back he will be the leader that he wants to be. Without the conflicting styles of Bibby and Artest things might run smoother than everyone thinks.

Unfortunately the idea that Bibby would have a comeback first couple of months so we can trade him at the deadline for picks and/or expiring contracts is history.

I thought the idea was to not trade Bibby so he could play well this year and we would trade him at the trade deadline? Didn't seem to work out that way, did it? I think the same thinking was there for Artest. Time will tell how that thought works itself out. Theus better have some ongoing psych counseling as part of contract...

I don't buy 4-6 weeks. Maybe 4-6 weeks and he comes back with a sore hand that he can't shoot with. He'll probably start playing pretty well after the trade deadline.

On the bright side, a top 5 draft pick looks better and better. And if anyone wanted Martin to get a lot more shots, you just got your wish. If Martin doesn't take 20+ shots a game now, there is something wrong. My wish was to get Douby a lot of playing time, so I guess wishes do come true...

Ditto's.... I've been saying all along that Douby is not a pt guard. I've watched this experiment tried over and over again in the NBA and to the best of my recollection, I've never seen it be sucessful. Maybe Bricky or someone else can name someone who was sucessfully converted. Its like taking a wide receiver and trying to turn him into a quarterback. An extreme comparison, but it makes the point. Douby played the pt last night at times and had significant minutes. How many assists did he have?

I just hope that Mike doesn't force his way back. I want him to take his time. I didn't like how he "toughed" it out last year, especially since he should have been healing his hand/wrist.

I wish i could say your right but last year it wasnt as serious as a torn ligament, even if it is his off hand thats pretty serious

I would try extremely hard to obtain one of the PG's under contract with Houston....and I'm not talking about Rafer Alston.
