Bibby has torn ligaments in thumb

Tarindel

G-League
per 1140am just now.

Gerry Gerald (sp?) says this typically takes 4-6 weeks to recover from with no surgery, or 8-10 weeks with surgery.

Left thumb (non-shooting hand) but not known if surgery required. Out for 6-8 wks w/o, maybe 10-12 wks w/surgery. YIKES!

They just said it is his off hand, BUT it could require surgery. Grant says this will send Petrie to the veteran wire, trying to find someone to fill in at the point. Not that we'll find a Bibby caliber player...

Crap doesn't even begin to describe the feeling.

BLAST!!!

Well this stinks another injury before the season like last year.

So who starts the regular season?

you aren't gonna find a starter that's a FA now.

Grant and Jerry are saying Petrie is probably already working the wire, trying to find a veteran point guard who can at least step in and give some kind of help. Not gonna be a starter, but perhaps someone who at least played backup recently...

VF runs to check the FA list...

Boykins is a FA (the list is in the Personnel Moves forum). And Payton might not be that far out of a selection, considering he could add a veteran presence. Of course, we'd have to convince him to come to the Kings...

I'm sure Jackie Christie is sticking the phone in hubby Doug's ear saying, "call em' honey - hurry!"

Doug isn't a point guard, remember? However, I wonder if we could talk Reggie into suiting up?

Oh God help me. I think I'm getting delirious.

:p

But Doug (and Jackie) keeps telling us he's a combo guard as good as there is and better than 80% of the starting PG in the NBA:D

I must be drinking the same Kool-Aid as you because I was thinking the same thing. Theus can be our player/coach. :D

There goes the season. No Artest and Bibby for 7 games. No Bibby for anywhere from 6-12 weeks. Yeah...unless a miracle happens, which I will hope for, we're done.

When I first saw the thread title I thought it was from last season, until I looked at the date. :(

Me, too!!!! I just keep thinking about how Mike is a very quick healer. If they are saying 6-10 weeks, he will probably be back in 4-6 weeks.

Kevin will have to carry a heavier load. Hopefully Brad will be more of a contributer. How difficult is our schedule the first month?

like last year, i wouldnt be surprised if bibby plays 1st game of the season.. if this happnes props to me, i dont see him sitting out with an injury on his off hand but we will see, he was supposed to miss time last year to but played threw it

Missed time, more losses, better pick.

Sad but its not like losing our superstar in the playoffs or anything.
