Bee: Two articles about Artest and the Kings

I agree with what Marty said here:Should the Kings ever decide to trade Stojakovic, what comes in return must be far more dependable and stable than Artest.

Exactly. I really wish we could get Joe Johnson, he can hit the 3-defend-slash-pass-rebound a bit too.

No way this will happen. Ron Artest is on record saying that HE WANTS TO BE MORE SELFISH!

We have talented players and we are just starting to come together. Petrie doesn't have as itchy of a trigger finger as these armchair GMs who want to fire someone everytime we lose a game. There are plenty of teams out there that are in way worse shape personell and record wise than us. They can get desperate, I still have enough faith in the current team to not start grasping at explosive straws.

Let me ask you Skinnerbox -- have faith in them to do what? Make the playoffs? Who the hell cares??

This team is going nowhere. Does not have the capability of going anywhere until it is changed. And we can either sit aorund on our collective butts waiting for that to be proven conclusively as the fans drift away and the glory days recede into distant memory, or we grow a pair and take a stab at greatness. And maybe it fails. But at least we had the balls to pony up in the first place. At least we tried.

have fun in indy land pedja, i was hoping for the kings to lose these last few games only so i can have a change with these current kings...... like trading pedja hopefully i will get my wish...... im one messed up fan lol, i dont see these kings goin n e where n why waste time. a change is wht we need some defense and heart all qualities which pedja lacks

Peja isn't a bad man-defender at all.

Imagine another Bonzi on the floor with even a better more reliable outside shot, even though he's been pretty much dead nuts the last 3 games.

how pathetic is that ?

keep hoping - builds character:rolleyes:

Artest will be going to the Clippers for Maggette. Watch and see. The clippers are doing well and alot of game with out Corey. They feel they have a shot and will jump on the chance of getting Artest who yes could be thier leading scorer with Brand and Cassell Artest would fit nicely.

With Brand/Cassell/Mobley still all there? I don't know about that.

there is no other way Petrie would trade pedja unless this teams really goes down the toilet so get rid of tthe wuss

even then he might not do it.

The name of the site is Kingsfans.com. We have many different people with different opinions, agendas etc here. Yet at least IMO we all want to see Kings win every game.

Sorry I just can't picture a concept where I call myself a fan and want my team to lose. It is just wrong on so many levels.

It is the last game of the season, you are tied for the worst record in the league. Tim Duncan is in the draft as the #1 pick. Do you want your team to win, or to lose?

Which is just to point out its not always that simple. Hypothetically I would much rather my team lose 3 now so they could win 10 more a year every year going into the future (speaking in general terms, not just on Artest). That's rooting FOR the team, rather than against them. Its just taking a longer view of things.

Well, it is a big picture but it is tough one for me. I played team sports my whole life and when You win as a team - there aren't many things quite like it. There have been times when I was a "man" a "role player" and the "towel guy." Never - not once did I want the team to lose. Hell, I couldn't sleep after losses. I mean - it my sound stupid to You but I do sometimes have R Horry hount me in my dreams.

So, I guess if a loss would help the big picture I would just not watch the game because it would eat me alive not to hope for a win. Basically - the day where I could watch team I root for lose without being upset - is a day I quit watching. That is just me.

wow, after everything that Petrie has done for this franchise, that is the way to thank him. Where were the Kings on the map before Petrie arrived. Webber has a one good game and all of a sudden it's all Petrie's fault. Get rid of softie, and bring in an idiot like RA. I respect Artest for his basketball skills, which I value more that Peja's, but why bother and think he's not going to do the same to the Kings. Take a gamble on Artest yes (since he's "cheap" and only 3 years left), but not giving up Peja. Package some of that worthless bench and try trading with it. Indiana needs a starting small forward, how about Kenny Thomas, and I'd give them that Martin kid anytime.

You are right Petrie made the moves in 98-99 that put this team on the map, and for that Petrie should be respected for. But I wasn't talking about 7 yrs ago, I was talking about the past 3-4 years he hasn't done crap in terms of getting this team better, instead he let go of John Barry, Gerald Wallace, Keon Clark, Jim Jackson, Eddie House, and many other veterans who be excellent off the bench. By the way Webber hasn't just had one good game he is averaging 20pts, 10rbs, and close to 4 assts a gm. Compare that to the philly 3 who aren't even close to reaching those totals. Webber meant more to the team then we realized, and I guarantee you we wouldn't have lost 4 games at arco if Webber was still here. Webber made everybody better, and masked up their deficiencies. But the trade is over now, and it is time to move on, but Petrie owes us fans a make up trade. All will be forgiven and forgotten if he trades Peja for Artest!

Peja starts out 3 for 3 in the 1st quarter, and finishes 4-12 for 14pts. All this game did is confirm to me that we can win without peja, who besides the 1st quarter was virtually non existant, and throwing up air balls in the clutch(01 WCF), against houston the other night, and many other choke games from him. We won this game with defense, grit, and determination. We didn't win this game with peja going off for 6 3's and 25 pts. Artest would of made sure wally szerbiach wouldn't of went off for 25 pts. The time is now trade peja and get a player who can shut down the opposing teams best offensive threat, and still score 20pts on the offensive end! Ohh did I not mention he leads the league in steals at like 2.6/gm. Get over his past issues, you guys are all over bonzis nuts now, and he had past problems also. It just shows Sacramento makes players better, and many players have performed their best here.

I somehow don't think that it works quite that way

not gonna happen....

and kings fans, fwiw, i really dont think artest is gonna end up in sacramento...

i just gotta sneaky suspicion hes gonna end up in LA as in lakers...it will be at least a 3 team deal....and i wouldnt be surprised if it was very similar to the deal u guys were involved with over the summer....and a deal everyone kinda goes huh?...where odom goes is anyones guess, but it wont be indy....phil sees a chance to win now-something that didnt seem possible before....while still maintaining their cap strategy in 2 years...my guess is theyre ultimately eyeing a bynum, bosh, artest, kobe and whoever lineup...

i really think if the pacers were going to 'rent' a player, it would be harrington over peja...

but i dont see them doing that....only chance they have of coming out of this smelling like a rose is getting some young talent...i wouldnt be shocked if seattle is somehow involved...peja lite comes at half the price and is expiring as well....and he could help man the 3 spot with granger this year with granger taking over full time next...

i also think ur gonna see more than one trade, or actually some guys traded off the pacers roster that u werent expecting...i wouldnt be surprised to see tinsley, jackson, pollard and harrison gone...and benders contract is a real possibility as well...

i think donnie has created this whole flurry and is gonna use it to make a number of moves all at once...like i said, i think theres gonna be alot of people saying, "wow, i had no idea they wanted to trade all those guys"...it might not be all of the ones mentioned, but i have a feeling it will be most of them...and i wouldnt be surprised to see denver end up with jackson....

p.s. isiah is the wild card in this....i would love to be a mouse in isiahs pocket...i know hes torn....because he knows the pacers dont wanna deal ron to new york....but he wants him really bad...really really bad...and with all that has happened, his pride cant take losing out...so it should be interesting....
