Wow, is it time for fire muss talks to begin already? Seems like just yesterday I was wishing Adelman would substitute players based on their actual play.
Anyway, the way I see it, in that situation a coach can either leave a guy out there to struggle or yank him and let him think about it...and it sort of depends on the player as to which would work best for learning. Its not like one way is always right and the other way kills the players soul or something. Muss is paid to make those calls so without any evidence that Kevin's developement has been harmed, and a win in the pocket, I'm not going to secondguess it.
I mean c'mon people, if the kid was so mentally weak he can't handle being taken out of a game he'd have gone home to mama after rookie year. Why would this kill his confidence when the rookie years didn't? Makes no sense to me, so I ain't worried.
If he's got the kind of determination and heart we all hope he does, this will only make him tougher. And if he doesn't he was never going to be any better than a cuttino mobley anyway, so why worry.
