Bad News! Barkley To Announce Thursday's Kings/Lakers...

Apparently, that's not what the networks think. Goes to show what the real experts think about broadcasting compared to the casual fans.

Hrm. Most of what's on TV now is garbage so Mario's opinion is worthy to me. Barkley is usable as an "everyman" type of beer drinking idiot who makes stupid points about teams and players -- many fans sit on their couches and do the same things. As a color commentator? He's just yea better than Magic in that respect (which ain't saying much).

The "duality of man" perspective: I'm not gonna be a snob and say that Barkley's not vaguely entertaining while he insults my sensibilities. Nor will I say that I'd rather hear color from Steve Kerr merely because he can speak fluent English. Kerr has less expertise in analyzing good players than Barkley does (and he's a little blond smiley prat). If the game isn't on KCAL 9, I'll still accept Barkley for all his faults. I know he is what he is.

Good. You can have him. My extremely strenuous objections to having him present in Arco stand. He has made no secret of his disdain for Mike Bibby, he has continually derided the Kings, even when we were truly elite. He's coming in to the arena of the Sacramento Kings and the lack of respect he has for our team is truly disturbing. I'd rather have Bill Walton and anyone who has been around here for any amount of time is probably on the floor in a dead faint as they read that comment.

CHARLES BARKLEY GO HOME!!!!!

What has he said about Mike? I've heard him dog out our Kings, but not Mike directly... I actually have no problem with Chuck..he's just funny to me. The fact that there is all this ADDITIONAL interest in the game means he's done his job...

Charles just promotes the team from the bigger city, as do many of the talking heads out there, because the partying is better when those teams go deep in the playoffs:D . If the Kings continue with their recent strong play it should be fun to observe the Round Mound of Renown as he chronicles the faker carnage.

I actually find Barkley entertaining when he's NOT talking about basketball. When discussing the Game, he just seems lazy (Spurs will win the championship, Kings aren't going anywhere, etc.). While these ultimately are true comments, I'm interested in hearing a well-thought out analysis of each team and the game that is being played.

I am glad that Barkley is scheduled to announce the game tonight because the Kings are going to beat the Lakers like a red-headed stepchild. I forecast a new beginning for the 2006-2007 Kings season with a win against the Los Angeles Lakers, on TNT with a national audience. Hopefully, the Kings will jump on them early so that Barkley will have a long time to suffer.
