Auctions at Kings.com

That dine with Geoff is awesome! We should all chip in to have a Kingsfan member dine with him, and give him our insight :D

they really need to promote this...theres like 3 bids on the whole thing

The fly on the plane with the Kings to the preseason game is AWESOME. If I had the money I'd bid on that right now.

I've always wondered what they do on the plane...plus you'd get to meet EVERY King....wow

That's what I was thinking. Just thinking about having Petrie's or Adelman's attention for an entire round of golf......someone will definitely pay big money for that. I wonder if they knew what they were getting themselves into. :)

I know the auction will raise money, but I sure wish there was a way to conduct some kind of raffle. I think they'd raise a LOT more money AND one of the "little people" might actually get a chance to win.

;)

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

I couldn't believe that the only 3 bids was for courtside tickets for Minnesota, but then again, I can't compete with those prices. I would like the preseason game on their private plane or the preseason game @Vegas against the Lakers.:D I already tried the happy birthday to me, Merry Christmas and every holiday for a year dance with my hubby and all I got for my troubles was a h--- no and he laughed his guts out. He said there might be a chance if the auction was for a day, but since there is 10 more days to go, there's no chance. While I'm dreamin, I should go play lotto.

Flying with the Kings to a game - that would be amazing!!! If I could afford it, that's the one I'd go for.

The guy in charge for the security of the maloofs comes to my dads restaraunt. He has long hair and u guys might have seen him at a game cause he always sits courtside. Anyways, what I'm trying to say is maybe I can give him a call(my brother has his card) and schedule a flight for a game with the team without bidding for it(would not happen, but it would sure be fun as hell).

Hmmmm! If I had a huge source of income (instead of almost none ;) ) I would bid on the flight with the Kings and preseason game at Clippers, the road trip with the Monarchs (includes more than with the Kings), dinner with Geoff and his wife (he is a gourmet cook), and dinner with Yolanda Griffith (my favorite female player in the WNBA).

Wow, I'd love any of these (not really golf person but could pick their brain). Some people are going to be very lucky to win these. A raffle would be a great idea though.

I totally agree with you. $1000 for a trip to see the clippers in pre season would be great, but a little out of my price range. Now, paying say $5 for a raffle ticket with the chance to win that same trip....Like you said VF, they would raise more money and give more a chance to win. :D

I would love to take the trip to see the clippers in a pre-season game. Flying with the team, dinner in a VIP rest. tickets to the game. That would be so cool. Also, the trip to Vegas would be pretty nice too. Auh but the money is stopping me from my dream. :(

Once in a lifetime experiences.

I definately am going for one of the rounds of golf myself. I also would drive all the way from where I live down by LA to fly with the kings to LA and back.

But personally I want one of the rounds of golf and will take my dad and brother, kinda of birthday/Christmas gift for them.

if the biddings for the vegas trip, team flight, or the dinners (GP or a kings player hopefully our choice) don't exceed $1,500, i'm going to be sorely tempted...

it's a good cause, right?:)

^it's for a great cause. It's too bad that I don't have the money, otherwise the dinner with GP would be mine!

Why not have a raffle here.. All chip in $10 or whatever it takes to get to $1000 and then the winner of the kingsfans raffle gets to go. Than of course write a lengthy post here about how it went, and INCLUDE PICTURES! :)

the pistons, clippers, warriors, and wolves have auctions too. while nothing as cool as the experiences the kings are offering, they're auctioning jerseys and balls and stuff with autographs at a much more affordable starting bid.

wish the kings had some stuff like that...

I think most of the teams have some kind of auction in the works...

I'm more than a little disappointed with the Kings stuff. Starting bids of $1,000? When I checked earlier today the vast majority of items had NO bids. Either that, or they aren't updating the information.

I agree wholeheartedly, Jerryaki, with your wish that the Kings have some reasonably priced stuff. They could actually sell stuff at set prices instead of auctioning it off and donate the proceeds to the relief effort. It seems IMHO they could have put a little more thought into this and ended up with more people able to participate and more money raised for the cause.

But that's just my three cents on the issue...

ya I agree VF about the starting bids. I think there should be NO starting bids or limits. Kinda weak sauce IMO and it really gives the sense they are looking out for #1 instead of doing it to help people.

In fact its all for charity right? Why would they even put a min bid on it? If anyone that is anyone that uses EBAY knows you don't put a min bid on because people will bid it up, especially the last minutes. Min bid sucks.

Not happy at all with that list. I like to complain but this is worth it. Were are the HATS/Shirts/Jerseys signed by players? Hell I don't have 1 grand to drop on a min bid. I have already donated but not 1 grand, I donated what I could.

With that said I wouldn't mind spending 50-100 bucks on a jersey signed by Bibby/Peja/Brad/Rahim/Wells... So big business it makes me sick.

How can asking a $1000 for charity be looking out for #1? especially when it is such a great cause, and you get something that is a once in a lifetime experience out of it.

As far as the ebay sitiuation 75% of all items there have minumum bids.

And you will never be able to get a jersey signed by those 5 for 50-100 bucks try $300-$1000

I do agree that they should have had some lesser items, but they are trying to get the max money for the people that were affected. I would even expect to see more stuff coming out.

There are minimum bids - and then there are MINIMUM bids. Why set a minimum? Do you honestly think if someone bids $25 for a plane ride with the team, the bids won't go higher? They are making a mistake, IMHO, by not allowing the bidding to simply start and climb naturally.

There is no way I could afford $1000, so when I look at that list I immediately feel shut out - and I don't think I'm the only one. Yeah, the bids would most likely quickly climb out of my price range, but it would be nice to say - even for a minute or two - that I had bid for a chance to have dinner with Rick Adelman.

And to add onto that, if it was 100% for charity wouldn't 25 bucks be better then nothing? So far most the bids have 0 next to them.

I think in a way they don't want to give up a box seat/dinner/whatever and be out the money to pay for it. Just my thinking I may be wrong.

And even if I didn't win on an item starting at 0 and I bid 25. Thats how auctions go. They entice people to bid up things. Starting at 1k entices nobody, which is evident by the number of items with 0 bids.

Too bad Chris isn't on the team anymore. I'd gladly bid that much for a chance to molest him on the plane.

I mean... um...

Nevermind. :o

I agree with your 3 cents and raise you a penny :D

checking all the audtion items out, everything starts at $1,000. Only a few items have bids on them. I think they are pricing everyone out of the auction. They should start at $500 and I think they would get more action. I really want that trip to LA to see the Kings in a pre-season game. They aren't really losing any money, I mean the plan is flying to LA anyway. The only cost would be for the tickets and I'm sure they aren't worth $1,000, unless they are at court side. Just kind of frustrated that I can't bid on what I want because the price is too high. :(
