Artest - "LA would have been best for me"

#1
"Getting traded to the Lakers would have been great for my career. Just from a business standpoint, that's a million records sold. The Lakers pushed real hard. I was talking to Kobe a lot, and I never talked to Kobe ever in my life. He reached out, was like, 'Come to the Lakers.' He said, 'We're going to get you here.' Next day, I got an apartment in Hollywood, I moved some of my stuff, and I was in L.A. for two months, just waiting to be a Laker. Kobe would have done the scoring, Lamar does the passing and triple doubles, and we can all play the point. That would've been dangerous."

"The Maloofs wanted to visit me in Queensbridge earlier this year, and with no security. So I took them to my projects, inside the ghetto. ... At one point, they had to go to the bathroom, but there ain't no bathrooms in the ghetto. So they went into a pissy elevator, knocked on a random door, and went in someone's apartment. How many owners do that? That's crazy. I love those guys. I want to be in Sacramento forever."
But Im sure he's only just saying that he wants to stay because he's Ron, right?

Why do we pay attention to that quote while all the while stufff like my bolded quotenever gets so much as a mention?

Yeah. I dunno why but people need to look at all he said instead of taking it out of context. He was specifically talking about his rap career, yet somehow people think he's demanding a trade to LA or something.

The guy said he wants to stay in Sacramento forever. I think the LA statement was kind of stupid but oh well, it's not like it was something really big yet. He didn't even say he wanted to play in LA. He said it would've been good for his rap career and that he would've made their team better, and it's true.

I hope he continues to love Sacramento, I don't know if he will but oh well.

That is true ShatteredVision. I see from your icon that you are also an L.A. Kings fan. So am I. What do you think about the team this year? Kings play the Ducks tonight. Should be a good one.
The Ducks are good. The Sharks are better. In fact they are te best. NorCal All the Way Baby!

The espn link seems to be bunk. All I get is Error 404 when I tried to get the initial statement. I can believe Ron would say something like that bud did Ron even say that?

The link works for me...So I dunno.

But Ron did say LA would have been best based on a business standpoint.

Thats a million records sold, you know?

He goes on to say that the Maloofs are awesome, he loves them, and hopes to be in Sacto forever.

Best policy is to take everything Ron says with a ho-hum attitude. Otherwise it'll drive you crazy. That means I take his statement that he wants to be in Sacramento forever with a grain of salt, too. Its like, "Yeah Ron, OK." Its merely how he feels/thinks at that exact moment.

Ho hum am i the only one that feels Ron-Ron is going to put together an MVP caliber season. I will not be shocked at all to see him on the ballot. I just feel he is going to be that guy for us this year and the rest are going to feed off of it like they did in the second half last year. Only this time Ron is in better shape better mind and skills have been sharpened and will give even more to feed off of.

Not too sure man, they have a chance as long as the Ducks goalies aren't in playoff shape. Sharks are a clear favorite to go the distance and the Stars are never out until the Avs say so.

LA Kings will be alright and not in the cellar.

He spoke the truth. Should he have lied?
That is how I see it. He seems to always tell the truth. He would have liked to play another season with Bonzi also. He wanted the Maloofs to keep Adelman. With Bonzi and Adelman gone, LA probably look pretty good. We don't have a Kobe Bryant or Phil Jackson.

Artest speaks his mind, got a problem? Take it up with him. I didn't think so.

If you cannot see where this statement came from, . No doubt he would have sold a lot more records if he were there. If he regretted coming to SAC, he would have slipped up on that by now. Get over it, Ron is the MAN! kb knew it. I knew lakers fans were out of there trees (get it? cause they do not have any :D ). To dis Ronnie?? Wow, if we still had Peja and Lakers had Ron we would have missed last years playoffs and they would have made it farther - ouch!
