Artest Interviewed On TNT

Blaming Ron for the Detroit brawl is BS. He shouldn't put that hard foul on Ben Wallace with the game decided, that was wrong and he should have been punished for it. But the escalation wasn't his fault. It had everything to do with the particular teams and their particular fans.

I can't ever imagine a Kings-Lakers game turning out like that.

But it was a publicity nightmare for the NBA, and Ron is the scapegoat.

Er...when you get a guy charging off into the stands...yes, you absolutely "blame" that on the guy who in fact actually did start the whole mess.

Didn't do it alone. It was never nearly as black and white as people wanted to portray it. But tyring to deny he caused that...is jsut unnecessary.

I just rewatched the video of the brawl. The whole scene was out of control. Artest laid down on the scorers table with his hands behind his head to try and stay out of it but the crowds were taunting him and he didn't keep it together. He's got fault, but he didn't cause that place to go out of control like it did.

The fact that they changed it after the damn game was over is enough to make the decision wrong.

If it was a flagrant 2 it should have been called that. It wasn't, and to change that after the fact is bogus. If they're gonna be like this, I want our 2002 World Championship, posthaste.

Doesn't matter. It's over and done, much like Bibby having the gall to run into the great KOBE's elbow.

There are some pretty good arguments about the whole Artest-Detroit brawl. You might want to go back into the archives and read them.

Let's just leave this thread to current misfortunes.
