Artest deal "Guaranteed." ???????

#31
How about we package Artest with someone like K-9 to Boston for a couple of their younger players. You know that Boston is looking for someone to help take the load off of Pierce and it doesn't take too much to win in the Eastern Conference.

I would love to see us get kendrick perkins (I like his upside) or Jefferson, and maybe a young athletic Tony allen, David West, and or Ryan Gomes. If we got West, maybe we could package Bibby to acquire some more lottery picks and or another big man.

Our Starting Five (without Bibby):

West
K-mart
Allen
Gomes or Sar
Miller (with Perkins coming off the Bench)

Is there anyway Boston Does this Deal or am I just dreaming?

I still like my idea best:D ..........deal Artest to the Magic for Darko and JJ.........this would truly put us in rebuild mode and give us arguably the best young team in the league.
We would be pretty thin at SF losing Artest, but I like what I see from Salmons and he can cover that spot, although being quite a bit smaller from Artest big bad self (a real brusier like Bonzi was). :p

We really need a dominant 4/5, so this is what we need to look to filling 1st. We have Brad, but we don't have the nice aggresive rebounding PF that we had when we had Webber and haven't had it since. We are really set at the 1-3 spots, especially 1 & 2. I'd love a Anderson V from the Cavs, Boozer from the Jazz, or a nice young and athletic Wilkins that we tried to get. SAR has been o.k. filling in for 4/5, but we need to move K9 sooner then later and packing him with Artest should do it (we'd be sending off Artest which teams, want and unloading K9 and his contract which teams wouldn't want but need to take it if they want Ron). A Artest/SAR trade should definately land us someone more substantial though....it better they are both underpaid for what they bring and don't have huge long contracts. :p

How about Ron and KT to New Jersey for Vince Carter, Moore, and a pick.

I read on some low level rumor page (i think Hoopshype) that New Jersey wanted to rid Carter before the deadline. He is at high cost but only for this season and next then he is a FA.
After we got VC, trade for micky mouse, trade for MoPete and call up big country. Now we call all sing O Canada with Damon/VC/MoPete/SAR/Big country.:p

j/k

BTW I think Ron/SAR for Vince Carter, Moore, and a pick make the most sense but our D will be bad.

But why oh why would we want Vince in our position? As an equal talent? As an ender? It would be one of those style determining things. But when the style is be weak and pretty and run up and down the court shooting willy nilly and playing no defense...

Besides which NJ isn't going to do something like that. They need a spark and a frontcourt guy, not to replace their leading scorer with an unstable force. I could see them dealing Vince if they think he's going to walk, but if they do, they would have to be getting back something long term, not something even less dependable.
Not to mention that he shall be hindering Martin's progress. Also, won't we face the same dilemma at the end of the year, that we might lose him for nothng.

I could give a hoot about hindering Martin's progress if it was actually going to lead somewhere. And frankly, I don't think it would anyway. Would actually take some pressure off him as teams would have a true alpha scorer to focus their attention on. But none of that matters unless there is a plan -- some reason to make the deal. Just picking up Vince because its Vince even though that means building the team around two skinny perimeter guys who are basically pure scorers doesn't make much sense to me and feels more like just another patch job.

^^Whoa. That comment is a lot deeper than it looks at first glance.

Nice one, fnordius. I don't know if I agree, but it certainly is worth thinking about.
