I have heard these stories over the year past when a young player comes up.
Guys like Kobe, Lebron, Carmelo, Wade and etc...
So ill take this a good sign that he is starting to get "haters"
I hope you aren't implying that Tyreke would be best at sf, and that going forward we should have Kevin at the 2 and Tyreke at the 3. Tyreke is a pg. Omri and Donte can play the 3, and one of them will be our future starting sf. It makes no sense to consider moving Tyreke to sf fulltime to appease Kevin. We are already grooming our future sf's. If Kevin can't play with Tyreke in the same backcourt, he has to be moved.lebron? when? when has anyone ever said that he was selfish with the basketball? if anything they say that he passes too much sometimes. same thing goes for wade as well, he is a willing passer. carmelo is a straight scorer...
tyreke looks to destroy, thats cool... i have no problem with it, its him doing it as our starting pg. as a sg or sf thats fine, we still have someone to run the offense for everyone else, beno, sergio or any pg i suppose.
but if there is an issue, its probably with martin which is a shame. but he knows that he would be at his best with a pass first pg. if tyreke could play off the ball and shoot, he could be our starting sf and he and martin wouldnt have any problems. they could take turns being the scorer and it wont disrupt the offense. but that will take time, he will get there but it will take time...

This is about there being two dominant scorers in the backcourt nothing else Tyreke is an excellent point and I dont know how you can argue that he has set up his guys time and time again last night he had so many dimes that his team mates messed up and he still had 8 assists I dont understand how anyone can come on this board and bash Reke yea he has stuff to work on but come on the point is the hardest position on the court to learn your the extension of the coach not to mention he is only 20 its like your not even watching the games or something he is a rare bread I will tell you that much baring injury he will be a HOF and bring championshipS to Sac guaranteed because his defense will only get better his passing will get better his shot will get better his everything will be better a couple years from now your going to be watching the kings and Reke Havok and get up walk to a mirror and slap your self and say what was I thinking and you can come on here and tell us all about it as we laugh lol ........
This is by far the longest sentence I have ever read. You sure you couldn't have thrown a period or two in there?

How do you know what Kevin thinks? I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but unless you are a close confidante of Kevin's there is no way you can make this statement.
And, I'm sure he enjoyed the attention he got last year when he finally was 'the man' of a 17 win team.
And, I'm sure he feels the fanbase has turned on him ever since that damn rookie came in and stole his thunder.
I'm just speculating with all of this, I hope his ego is not that big.
But there is something going on in his psyche that points to him being defeated by Tyreke coming in and instantly becoming the leader of this team. It's like the house he built was torn down and Rome was built on top of it, in a day....
You are right. You are only speculating and you would be wrong.
I have met Kevin on more than one occasion, and while I don't know him well, my friend is a friend of Kevin and his family's. I will never speak to how someone "thinks" unless I am comfortable that I know.
Is Kevin unhappy? Sure, but it is not how you all are making him out. He is unhappy with himself, but he is working hard (like he always does) to right things. It will take time. He knows he will get his shot (and consistency) back.
You're right but I would propose it more important right now to add another starter quality player. Don't get rid of such a starter until then.Dang... I KNEW IT! It's not rocket science, but I had a feeling something like this would pop up.. just not so fast.. Martin, and Evans cannot play well together.. It's time to move one of them, and the "one" is most likely Martin![]()
I'm pretty sure if our guys could shoot better, we'd see Tyreke with a 7-9 assist average and this wouldn't even be an issue. Team's double/triple team Reke's penetration and he kicks it out to open guys who can't drain the bucket. It's not his fault for wanting to win.
Hate when people say that kind of stuff.. If every team shot better their PGs would average 15apg... It's a copout to say "if his teammates blah blah then he would have blah blah". Tyreke is not the type of guard that will give you 7-9apg for an entire year.. That's not his game.. I have been saying this since we drafted him. Evans is a combo guard at best with shooting guard tendencies. He can handle the ball 90% of the time for all I care (when we are winning) but I would rather pair him with another ball handler type in the back court.. Martin will not cut it. Beno > Martin in this category.
i hate that more than anything, do you know how many assists that chris paul and nash would average if their teammates hit more of their shots... like 17 assists per game.
We could move Martin to SF, and bring in Devin Harris to play with Evans.. 3 potential all-stars on the same team but do you think the Kings will be any better than they are now? nope!
This I have been saying a lot as well....
Chemistry means more than stacking a team with raw talent and hoping they click.
You stick Jason Kidd, Richard Jefferson, and Vince carter on the same team... Whoever thought up this brilliant idea was just plain retarded.. Kidd never NEVER NEVER EVER EVER used to shoot from the outside. He sucked from the outside. When did he start doing this? When Jefferson, and Carter clogged the lane, leaving Kidd with nothing more to do except shoot outside jumpers. Carter and Jefferson were like Martin, and Evans.. Both had VERY similar games, and had no way of working in NJ because they were stepping on each others feet all the time. Kidd was the only one that adjusted his game to fit better with the other two which was kind of making me mad because he's the PG.. Others should have had to adjust rather than Kidd because he was running the offense. That's basically why Kidd >>>>>> Carter, and Jefferson together. Kidd is much more valuable.
Like others have said Reke is going to have the ball in his hands a lot regardless of what position he is labeled as. Would some of you feel better if there was a guy that just passed the ball to Reke every possession that we called the PG?
and boy are the nets so much better now that they got rid of all three...oh wait. though i understand your point that chemistry is very important, we cant just go letting core players go all willy nilly. we need to get equal value for kevin (minimum solid big man). off the top of my head i cant think of a time a team got better by letting go of one of their top players for less than equal value. but there are many instances where you start adding good players to a team and they get better. the important thing is not letting one of your stars go for trash and adding the right piece. if petrie can do that? we can only hope
agree, i bashed before for his passing, but he sure looked like he wants to find his friends more. There is a short blurb in a Yahoo article citing "league Sources" that some team members may be unhappy with the way Tyreke dominates the ball.
There's also a note about teams watching Martin which we've already heard about.

I'm not sure if there's anything to the Tyreke thing, if there is I think people need to reevaluate things. Tyreke isn't perfect, and at times he probably does need to share the ball a little more. It seems the last couple of games that he has played he has made more of an effort to do that, and I think there are some positives that have come from that.
But, games like last night where the team starts to fail down the stretch, and Tyreke took over and put on a clinic....well you can't really argue with the guy taking over at times.
A lot of people here say they don't want Tyreke dominating the ball. However, if we really want him to become a superstar, which he has a good chance of becoming someday, we have to let him take over. If that means losses, for right now, that's just what we'll have to take. Benefits will come.
