2 expirings + those 2 prospects would be a dream deal for sac.
That does work financially, but 4 for 1s are hard. Sac would need to cut 3 of saric, Westbrook, eubanks, precious, Doug, while eating that money also. It shouldn't stop them but they are cheap. you could send eubanks to Portland as they seem to have some tax space. Maybe find a 3rd team for Doug as well using some cash.
Id be all in on that deal. Also williams + Thybulle is very close salary to kuminga + a filler salary. Would make sense for gs to add wing depth + another center.
Kuminga + Scoot + yang would be a solid return for sabonis.
So on the flip side of my last post, I think fans would be upset to let Hansen go because they all did fall in love with him over the summer. More likely the salary filler would be on the disposable side after Scoot and Grant, to get 3 picks.
I think we would have to work a deal with another team first where we do a 2:1. So you do a DDR + McBuckets for another bad salary + pick. Or Monk + Saric.
I think we'll hang onto Russ until the deadline, I could actually see us getting something for him if he continues to stand out, given his salary. I'm sure he'd welcome moving to a playoff bound team.
I still wouldn't hate it. Scoot was talked about as a big time prospect for a reason, still just 21 years old. And while he had a rough rookie year, he showed solid growth in year 2, which matters quite a bit to me.
I think you have to talk away with Hansen or Clingan though in this deal. Especially if we are taking on Grant.

In this scenario you are taking Yang at the cost of two future picks over the other proposed deal. Which I guess is fine, since the picks being tossed around convey between 28-30. But we might be better off with those picks. I honestly don't know if Yang is special.

I hope you are right about DDR/Monk, they both need to go.
To me the sooner Russ goes the better. He is clearly the best player on this team, he will lead us to some unnecessary victories. He is also icing out Keon/Carter minutes. Removing Russ asap clears the way for Keon to play 30mpg. I'd rather make Keon happy than fetch a random 2nd for Russ at the deadline.

Issue is that Portland doesn’t really have many spare first round picks to go around and their pick for next year is already gone
I am hopeful that overpaying Schröder who shares an agent with Keon and refusing to consider him as a tradepiece in the Kuminga negotiations means Keon has already agreed in principle to an extension in February or whenever he is actually eligible.
If that doesn't happen then Perry is definitely down a few pegs in my score log.

This team doesn't need anything except talent, if that's a guard then you 100% take him. We are not in a position to draft for need, most of these guards will be long gone in 2-3 years time. I'm not passing on a guard because of Nique or Carter, much less Schroder, Russ or Monk. This is the type of mindset that will cause a franchise to miss out on a franchise player.

Hope you are right here. One concern is George came out saying Keon is "More replaceable than people are making him out to be…If they were to lose him in free agency, they can find a replacement for him". That was the franchises view not his. I think he's not just making an uneducated statement, I think they've shown that. Couple that with the fact that Ham said the contract was weird and what he last heard was Keon is extension eligible at anytime contrary to the February report.
Losing Keon would be a massive mismanagement. Just look on realgm or x, every fan base would love to have the guy. Even if Perry doesn't see him as a long term piece, you lock him up and find a home.

The best question is whether or not the strength of schedule prior to the season is indicative of how strong the teams are they are facing. Not sure the strength has panned out relative to how the teams they've face have actually looked.

The unfortunate thing about is again the Kings didn't do their work prior to having to pony up the bucks. The question with Keon is how much is he worth to the Kings? The Kings have never, or at the very least rarely, used those rookie scale deals to their advantage.

While I’d mostly agree, after tonight the Kings will have faced OKC, Denver, and Minnesota for 7 out of the 15 games that they’ve played.
In comparison, the best team the Suns have played to this point in the season is the Spurs once.

Tonight will show a lot. Memphis has Ja out and JJJ as a GTD. Kings have Keegan and Sabonis as GTD. A smart organization not gunning for the Vivek Invitational would be sitting Keegan and Domas for this game on the road.
My guess is JJJ sits and the Kings play both and win this game.

Portland would be insane to give up 3 picks for a guy who has been a complete non factor in playoffs and is completely unplayable with their main young big in Clingon,(unless they plan on moving him as well) also while a much better player than Grant what Grant brings (or the idea of what he could bring) in terms of size, defense and ability to switch is far more valuable in today's NBA and I assume he's on a much more team friendly deal.
Sabonis also clogs the lane even further for Avdija if you play Sabonis and Clingon together, I would be happy for 1 pick and 1 prospect with filler. I don't see why Portland would even want Sabonis, there is other teams that could use him.
If they do want him to make a story about his dads connection or something stupid like that I would ask for there wing defender Kumara or whatever the name is and Grant and would not even ask for a pick back. Grant/Murray/Kumara allow you to go against any set of wings and shooting guards defensively

Agreed on what we might get back. If we could get some of these proposals that some have suggested, that includes 3 firsts AND a young prospect like Scoot, the Kings should have pulled that trigger as quickly as they could to get off his contract and remake this team.

No, you were told that he was top ten in a series of valuable advanced metrics. There's a difference. And it's grating that you feel the need to sarcastically post this every single time Sabonis' name comes up.
I think you could add Monk, DDR, LaVine, Russ (if you found a way to make the money work) to pretty much any contender bench and it would.make it better. Just got to flip them across the league

This is pretty much what I've been saying for a while now. The rebuild process is going to be slow and painful since we have no real base to start from.
