Anyone know why KT didn't play tonight?

Adelman said he wanted to give Corliss a run, and he said that there were just no minutes. He said it may happen to some guys during the season too.

I don't think there is a real story behind it, i think Adelman wanted to use Corliss because Portland is not a great team and save Kenny for Phoniex.

What difference does it make? It's pre-season...

Kenny didn't look unhappy on the bench so I doubt if it's anything DRAMATIC or anything...

:D

I've seen him smiling, joking, etc. quite a bit. I don't think he's patently unhappy here. I think he just wants to be a starter; that in and of itself isn't a bad thing. It's just that here - on this current squad - I think he'll be more of an asset coming off the bench. And I have faith Adelman and the coaches will be able to convince him about that.

in the post game interview, rick adelman said he didn't play KT because he couldn't if he wanted to give corliss a good run

he's trying to evaluate and see what the best starting and backup line-ups are, and there weren't enough minutes to go around for KT

he even went on to imply that some games KT might not play at all, other games corliss might not play at all depending on matchips

And you know what? That's perfectly okay with me. ;)

It's a nice luxury to have talent like that available that you don't have to call on every single night, especially if the players are cool with it. I seriously doubt if Corliss will have any objections and I hope Kenny get learn to accept that being an integral part of a winning team, even coming from the bench, is more fun than starting for losers.

;)

Agreed.

Also, no one should get worried over this.

I would not be supprised one bit if this happened in the regular season to some of our good players, I mean look at our roster, this is the deapest I have ever seen the kings.:D The only time I really saw bad play was when there were 3rd string players in.

Agreed but I don't see Kenny being overly happy with sitting out a game once the real stuff starts.

He is whinging about wanting to be a starter, imagine what he would do if he had to sit out a game or 2 in a row when he is fit and ready to play

I dont see this guy sitting out games, if he does its most likely because RA has put him in the dog house.

Hmmm, this is another eyebrow raising quote from Rick -- NO coach does that, and if he is really thinking that way you can see the potential for trouble brewing on the KT front.

I agree.

If Rick actually does what he says and benched KT for a whole game then watch out, KT will be out for blood and if you though Keon Clarke was bad, they you better watch out. KT is gonna let it rip big time.

Rick didn't mention Kenny specifically I don't think. It was more like some guys might not play some nights. More of a general statement.
