I've already seen it! hahaha! Let's just say it's one of the benefits of going to film school. I will tell you it's better than the first two.

...That doesn't say much, does it? ;)

One of the problems with the prequels is that dialogue has been ranging from cheesy to downright awful at times. I haven't seen the third one yet -- I will -- but I can't imagine the dialogue being too much better. The actors don't seem to be able to do much with their lines as a result (though acting in front of a bluescreen probably has to with it), and they come alot off as wooden.

The critics have been mostly mildly positive on Episode III. Although it probably does 'suck less', I wonder how much of their views have been somewhat mitigated because of the fact they've possibly viewed the last star wars outing (that is what Lucas trying to say, anyways).

As long as the lightsabre battles are good though, I'm okay. Should be more fun than that duel vs Dooku.

The first episode made me sleepy.

NO. The original made me "sleepy" too....meaning it put me to sleep right there in the theater.

I'm going to see it tonight at 8:45 pm. You're complaining about the dialogue being cheesy?? Come on that is one of the great things about the original Star Wars is some of the cheese factor. While there was cheese they also effectively pulled off a very serious toned movie at the same time. They got a little crazy on the Jar Jar Binks thing though. I understand you need comic relief, but C3PO was better than that. My only problem with the prequels has been the over use of special effects at times. For instance:

Ina little preview I saw there is a fight seen in this one where ther eis a huge battle. I ship gets shot down and crash lands the roster pit lands and a guy leaps out what must have been 50 ft in the air. I understand they are Jedi and all that, but the originals these guys had supernatural powers while still seeming realistic. Luke could jump and flip effectively, but not much out of the bounds of a really coordinated, athletic acrobat. Not Cartoonesque powers.

I'm really not a big Star Wars geek. I just enjoyed the originals. To ensure I enjoy the prequels and tonights movie I just sit back, suspend all comparing, disbelief, and enjoy the movie for what it is.

Please don't spoil it for people who haven't seen it yet. Maybe you should read your other post about shooting a PM if you want to talk star wars.

Evenstar - I have deleted your post. If people are going to talk about the movie, they owe it to everyone who hasn't seen it yet NOT TO even hint at spoilers. It simply isn't fair...and, as Rock pointed out, you even mentioned it in the Movie thread.

Please, everyone... There is NO NEED to post spoilers. If someone wants to know, they can PM you but to post them where they can be inadvertently read just doesn't seem right. And a little tiny disclaimer in the middle of a thread may not actually be noticed by people until it's too late.

It's not a real big deal but I had the movie Sixth Sense totally spoiled for me because someone figured everyone already knew. Let's just keep spoilers out for those who are really looking forward to seeing the film without knowing in advance all the nuances, etc.

Thanks...

However good or bad it is, it can't hold a candle to "Mansquito." That's for sure!

Drove by the high-class Hollywood theater that's showing it around the clock on my way home from work last night around 1:30 expecting a sea of depravity that could spill out into the streets. All I saw was a handful of small groups dressed normally chatting or talking on their cell phones. Oh well.

I wonder if Triumph the Insult Comic Dog hung around the lines in NYC to do some interviews.

When you say original you do mean Star Wars with Mark Hammil and Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford right? Not Phantom Menace? I just want to clarify. I can't imagine anyone falling asleep to Star Wars. Phantom Menace, yeah. I am a child of the 70's and the "first" one will always be Star Wars to me. How I wish we had kept the original action figures. We had 2 of everything. Who knew? Anyway......

Yes, I mean the original with Mark Hammil and Carrie Fisher and Harrison ford. Boresville!! At least they only got $2.00 from me for that movie. :)

I heard on the radio that "sick days" were up 60% in computer companies. look's like they are all going to see the film
