It might be easier if we organized a law suit to get our deposit back.

What you should do is tell them you're buying the tix but then when they try to collect the money balk at it, say that you had major problems with the tickets the entire time, call a press conference, say that you still want tickets, and then promptly not buy them.

LOL!!!

Don't forget to throw out that maybe the team should just upgrade your current, crappy tickets.

By upgrade, you of course mean pay to replace the seats with leather recliners, free drinks, free parking, and a cut of the revenue for good measure.

But seriously we need an organized effort to cancel season tix. If I'm going to lose my deposit I want as many people in my situation to cancel as well.

Im in. We're going to inquire monday on whether we can cancel our renewal. If not we might just cancel the credit card we put the seats on. They havent charged it yet.

Been around a long time on this board, quite possibly the best post ever. :D

I agree. One of those posts I wish I'd thought of first :p

And actually, might be a fun little protest if we flooded MS&E sales offices with calls about tickets and backed out at the last possible minute.

If true, you should point out that your rep talked about the new arena or you relied upon kj at center court and gavins reaction in Orlando. Then, you can argue that the maloofs put a false spin on this just before renewals and now the atmosphere at games next year is completely different.

I doubt they will willingly give you the money back. So if you are serious, cancel the card. Some attorney in town will do what you are seeking, but the Maloofs are trying to offend the town, so it will be longer and harder

wow if MSE refuses to refund season ticket payments I will be surprised. Have they balked at a refund yet for anybody here?

Just tell them you are "having a hard time with this document," that your "intentions are not to blow this thing up, you've been a good boy" but "sometimes you change your mind."

They should understand. Afterall, its your prerogative!

I have some friends with season tix who are discussing the same thing. I can PM you their emails. One just wrote a letter to NBA and a scathing letter to MSE.

I just sent an email to the entire kings ticket and marketing department asking that they return my entire deposit. Fill up their boxes people. :)

I'm planning on writing a letter to Phil Horn director of ticket sales. Basically will say that since George is now planning to remodel PBP I expect that money and plan to be announced before the next ticket payment, they have a new real naming contract on the arena and gurantee they will not file for relocation next year if they expect to keep me as a ticket holder.

Ive got 3 friends (6 seats total) who've agreed to ask for refunds. If we can organize this we can punch the maloofs right in the pocket book. They can't afford to take a huge hit. After sleeping on it I realize that us going to the games "to show the NBA we're real fans" will not make one dam bit of difference. They NBA knows what kind of fans reside here in Sac. They will know why no one shows up to the games next season.

Agreed. If the fans stop going in protest, the NBA will know very god d*mn well why and that is has nothing to do with being bad fans.

We need to just take the high road and keep showing up IMO. That way we don't give the Maloofs an excuse to leave.

I see what you are saying, and not to be a downer, but it doesn't matter imo. They could give 2 sh*TS about our support. They will still want to leave regardless. Their objective right now is strictly $ driven.

I'm telling you guys...

I agree with BMiller52 and the others who firmly believe, as do I, that stopping support of the team is the totally wrong thing to do. We Sacramento fans have a league-wide reputation for supporting our Kings. And now, with the focus on the Maloofs, we look even better and, by comparison, the Maloofs are really beginning to look like the clowns they are. We do not need to lower ourselves to their levels. There's another thread about possible actions we can take to show our support of our team AND our total disdain for the Maloofs. (I'm not saying "the owners" because the minority owners are not to blame for this problem.)

Kings fans need to keep cool heads during these first few days of angst and frustration. Kevin Johnson said that we need to continue to show our support for our players. KJ hasn't steered us wrong yet and I will continue to be a Kings fan while hating the Maloofs.

Haven't read the above other than the title.

I'm not seeking a refund on by season ticket deposit although my partner is. If I did that the only person that would lose is me. No thank you.

Don't think he was saying that it would convince the Maloofs to want to stay, think he was saying it would keep the Maloofs from using crappy attendance as an excuse to leave when they go before the relocation committee next time. That committee -- the NBA and its other owners is where all of Sacto fans' efforts have to be geared to now. Keep them on your side, and the Maloofs still can;t move even if they want to without trying a risky and expensive lawsuit against the NBA.

So you are saying that I should not torch PBP??
I get where you and bmiller are coming from, but as long as these bafoons are running the team I will not set foot inside PBP nor will I give them a penny. It does not mean I won't support the team, it means I won't support the Maloofs . The reason I am so pissed about this is that I feel like we were all made fools out of. I myself got into many a heated debates with folks on this board defending these guys. Boy don't I feel foolish.

I think if you could get not the ticket holders to boycott but the business sponsorship to dry up it could hit home. Especially if said businesses gave the NBA assurances of new sponsorship with new ownership. Keep fan support up while squeezing the cash flow.

Remember who you're talking to - the original lady with purple-tinted glasses who got into heated discussions with people about measures Q & R, arguing that the Maloofs didn't mean to undermine efforts with their "poorly timed" Carl's Jr. commercial and that they really wanted to stay in Sacramento because they loved us and the city. I think a lot of us finally saw the emperor(s) without any clothes and it was certainly not a pretty sight.

I will go to games if/when I can, but I'm not going to spend money at the concession stand and I'm not going to step foot into the team store. And, if possible, I'll carpool with as many folks as possible to minimize the parking revenue the Maloofs get.

If the sponsorships dry up, it's one way for the Maloofs to prove to the Relocation Committee that they cannot be expected to stay in Sacramento without business support. It's a very slippery slope here; we have to find ways to get our message across to the NBA and the BOG without tarnishing the shining image we've built up. Of course, having a shining image when you're standing next to the Maloofs isn't that hard to do.

Side note: I just saw a trailer for "The Three Stooges." If I was a bit better at Photoshop, I'd sure be busily adapting a couple of pictures. ;)
