Amicks' blog has stuff...

G-League
Sam Amick talked about the Kings having a practice Monday night. He also said "numerous league sources" said they're still trying to work out some trade deals.

In addition, he mentioned there might be some interest in Miller by the Knicks...

(NOTE FROM VF21: The exact verbage from Amick's article has been removed as there was no link back AND Amick has asked us specifically not to quote his stuff...)

i like the the new york deal hopefully something happens soon

All expiring and no substance. I just hope that this is all talk from the other end and not from ours.

I like the talk about contacting Suns and NO about Chandler.

If we can get Amare AND Chandler, we are set in the front court.

who knows but from what I been hearing it seems like the Suns are set on keeping Amare for at least the remainder of the season.

Or it could be a tactic to get his price up! The offers that the Suns have been getting for Amare have truly been laughable and no where near reflective of his value! Come out and say you have decided to keep him, and other teams get a bit more serious with their offers.

I still think he is gettable for an offer that intrigues the Suns. The difficult part in this is that Kerr wants to get as much basketball talent out of it while Saver wants to save $$$! Finding a deal that satosfies both criteria will get you Amare.

Saver has a history of being a tight ***. He has been selling 1st round picks left right and centre in the last few years. If he can save money, he will trade Amare.

If we can pull off the Amare trade, and turn Miller into an expiring deal with or without young talent attached to it and pass it on for Chandler, you have your front court set for the next 5-6 years. And the front court is possibly the most ideal in terms of how they complement each others strengths and weaknesses.

Its still very much a pipe dream but its not impossible if we are prepared to take on more payroll and are aggressive in our trades.

A trio or Amare, Chandler and Martin is a VERY VERY good foundation to start from.

sam amick just added to his blog and mentioned it would be 500 thousand w/cassel i bet this is the firts part of a bigger trade

McCants? Seriously? Wasn't this guy touted as the Phenom from North Carolina? I rememeber it was like head to head between this guy and Hodges. But since both were picked ahead of us, we went with Garcia. Isn't he like rotting on the bench in Minnesota? I remember reading article about when McHale became head coach, he was going to start McCants. Than he put up like a 1-7 showing and was never heard from again...

Ya im starting to think that Sam Cassell trade may be the begining of a bigger trade. Lets just pray :)

Ya but at least he's an expiring though. He's also another player who also torches us when we play the t-wolves lol.

Thta little blurb at the end about acquiring Rashard McCants for nothing is of interest too. Young, player, idiot, but wiht scoring talent and moxy. Of course what do we need another shoot first scoring guard for? Well, its Geoff. But its free talent if Minneosta is that eager to exile him.

Him and Garcia HATE each other.

He's been injured all season.

I would assume this isn't all that will happen on the trade front. GP see's the same crappy product on the floor every night we see.

I believe the deal also frees up a little more salary space for the Kings.

I suspect that there's something bigger going on here. Its as though Petrie is trying to juggle a whole lot of peices and make something out of it. Amare or Chandler don't make sense unless Miller is gone. So I would think some deal involving Miller would have to happen first. Cassel doesn't make sense unless he's going to be waived, which I believe can't happen for seven days, or, Beno or Jackson is going somewhere in a deal. It appears from the outside that peices are being put in place for a chain of events to take place, with one depending on the other. Very tricky to manage if true.

I am not huge on Chandler; he's talented but seems a bit of underachiever. Trade to OKC further assures are top spot in lottery sweepstakes, though.

Chandler off the trade block makes Millers value go up. Hopefully we can make some sort of deal that gets us a young prospect and not only expirings. But after looking at Petries last couple of deals i wont get my hopes up...

You mean like Artest for Jackson's 6 mil expiring contract, Donte Green and a 1st round pick? I think you can have SOME hope. :)
